Hello,

Since last night I’ve had problems with my computer, I was getting blue screens I watched lots of videos to solve it none helped me so I went into Windows troubleshooting tool and I saw an MSI recovery option, I thought it was a good idea to reset the PC to factory settings as MSI promised, but when I did that I ran into lots of error codes like the computer repair error, I could no longer reset my PC nor uninstall an update or even perform a restore, so after many videos watched by myself I indeed saw that there was a problem with my C: drive there was no Windows on it anymore but a recovery.txt folder, then I saw that on the boot drive X: there was Windows so I decided to delete the recovery file and replace it with the Windows file on my C: drive then I restarted my computer and now I am stuck in the BIOS nothing to do I cannot find any solution.

    Hello

Reinstalling Windows will be the simplest and fastest.

Create a Windows installation USB on the Microsoft site and reinstall everything from scratch.

How can I reinstall Windows with a USB key if I am stuck in the BIOS?

The BIOS boot order is set to USB first, so with a bootable USB key it will boot from it, not from the BIOS.

How much storage does the USB key need to install Windows?

    8 GB is enough.

You go to this page: Windows 11 Download (microsoft.com)

    (assuming you have w11)

You look at what is described in the paragraph "Creating Windows 11 installation media" and you download the tool, you run it, it will create the USB drive directly.

You can first try a repair (reset), this will limit the loss to your documents, with no guarantee, it is explained here: Resetting and reinstalling Windows 11 – Le Crabe Info

There is nothing to do in the BIOS; once the key is prepared (on another PC, necessarily), you just need to plug it in, boot the computer normally, and it will start from the key.

    Hello,

When installing Windows from a USB key, the key must be bootable, so you need to prepare it with a bootable software; there are several, the most difficult to use being Ventoy.

    Rufus: https://rufus.ie/fr/

    A moderator provides another one:

Otherwise, the simplest method is the good old DVD: you just burn an ISO on it and boot the computer from the DVD, choose the advanced options. Either you format your disk, or you reinstall on top of the old Windows; it will create a Windows.old folder and inside you will have all your documents and old installed software, you can delete this directory to recover several GB.

If you want a Windows 11 up to date by July 2024, so as not to spend hours on updates, see here:

Then with the Iobit Driver Booster software, you can update all your drivers with one click, it does everything by itself, you can uncheck what you don’t want. Once used, you can remove it.

    Best regards.

      Why complicate things with Rufus?

The Microsoft utility does it just as well, no need for Rufus.

Mattoex obviously isn't comfortable with the BIOS and how to exit it, no need to load.
