Hello,

I may have already asked the question, but I can't find it on the forum right now.

I have a USB key that is visible on my PC with its name and images.

It is invisible on my SFR box via the media center, no trace of the key.

I've tried it on my PHILIPS television, same result.

Can you help me? Thank you.

Thank you, have a good day (evening)
Best regards.
BILL

Hello,

The drive might be in a format recognized by PC, not elsewhere (FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, ...).

On the drive in Explorer, right-click + Properties and check under File System.

Hello,

I suppose it concerns the images it contains, so her own images... and not THOSE images.

-- This drive is visible on Windows, as it has been formatted in Fat32 or NTFS...(Windows)

-- It is invisible on the BOX (which model), because the BOX does not operate under Windows... it is usually made to be visible on the network... But the installation must be done on the BOX and the USB declared as shared...

After that, you will be able to see the contents of your USB drive on your PC's internet browser... by typing its IP address in the URL address bar... like 192.168.1.5

For your TV, it's a similar story... The Smart TV probably runs on Android and only understands certain formats; described in the TV manual... or maybe it must be formatted only on the TV..??

You need to read the DOC and remember.

Hello,

I generally have keys formatted in FAT 32. I plug them into anything (PC, Freebox, smart TV) and they are always recognized. I access the content without difficulties.

I'm not quite sure what problem your key has. I suggest you reformat it and try again.

It would also be good for you to try with another key to see if the problem occurs again or if it only affects this key.

What we understand well is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

FAT is an old format, no longer used, exFAT is recent but not recognized on many devices.

You need to switch to a FAT32 format (which can cause issues for large videos as it is limited to 4GB) or NTFS (but this is also not recognized by all devices).

To change the format of a USB drive, you need to reformat it, which means you must back up all its contents beforehand as they will be lost. Right-click on the drive + Format and choose File System FAT32 or NTFS and test on the devices.

Hello everyone,
Here's what I found on a SFR forum
"Hello, in the end you just need to turn off the box by unplugging it from the back, then wait for a minute or two before turning it back on, and then plug in the hard drive and it works. Thanks to everyone for your help".

► It seems unbelievable to me, but why not give it a try?

► Has this key worked on this box before? (But what's strange is that it doesn't work on the TV either!)

We should try with another key to check if the problem comes from the box or the TV.
This way we can rule out a faulty key (formatting or otherwise).
Regards!

Hello everyone,
I only see the formatting of your drive as a solution (after you’ve backed up what you have on it, of course!).
Best regards!
