Hello everyone,
I have an LG DVD recorder RH188HS with an LG LCD 32LC2R and everything is OK...
However, I read in my manual that for some LCDs, you need to change the resolution and/or the sampling frequency (set it to 48kHz instead of 96...)
Below is the explanation from my manual:
Notes:
If your television can NOT support a
sampling frequency of 96kHz, set the
[Sampling Freq.] option to [48kHz] in the
configuration menu (see page 19). Once the choice
is made, the device will automatically convert
the 96kHz signals into 48kHz signals so that your
system can decode them.
If your television is not equipped with an
MPEG decoder and Dolby Digital system, set the
[Dolby Digital] and [MPEG] options to [PCM] in the
configuration menu (see page 19).
If your television is not equipped with a
DTS decoder, set the [DTS] option to [Off] in the
configuration menu (see page 19). To enjoy
DTS multi-channel sound, you must connect this
device to a DTS compatible receiver via one of the
digital outputs of the recorder.
The arrow on the body of the connector cable should
be pointing upwards for proper alignment with the
connector on the recorder.
If there are noises or lines on the screen, please
check the HDMI cable.
Tip:
When using an HDMI connection, you
can change the resolution (576i, 576p, 720p, or
1080i) of the HDMI output using the
RESOLUTION button.
Warning
Changing the resolution when the recorder is
connected with an HDMI connector may cause
malfunctions. To resolve this issue, turn off and then
turn on the recorder.
About the HDMI system
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) supports both
audio and video components over a simple digital
connection for use with DVD players, set-top boxes, and other
AV devices. The HDMI system was developed to
provide HDCP (High Definition Content Protection) technologies.
The HDCP system is used to protect the transmitted and
received digital content.
The HDMI system has the capability to support standard,
enhanced, or high-definition video components, plus the
standard for multi-channel surround sound audio. HDMI
functions include uncompressed digital video, a bandwidth of
up to 5 gigabits per second, a single connector (instead of
multiple cables and connectors), and communication
between the AV source and AV devices such as DTV.
