Transform USB power into USB player

Solved

Hello,
I just bought an Optoma X32UST projector equipped with a USB power input that cannot read USB drives and external hard drives without going through a PC.
Can we change this by buying an adapter? So that it can directly read USB drives?

Thank you, Glandu, for trying to help me. So the projector is the Optoma X320UST, here is the link: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-32583078-transformer-usb-power-en-usb-player
Regarding the USB port, it says: USB POWER (5V 2A)
It seems that its only purpose is to supply power to a USB product. Indeed, if I plug my phone into it, it charges.
I am very troubled because I am a teacher, and my laptop won’t last long at my school. I would like to directly connect a USB stick or an external hard drive... even if I have to buy an optional thing...

hello : hello I do not see the option to use a USB stick to play your videos like on a TV

        USB Port
Use the USB port to power an HDMI dongle, such as Google Chromecast or Optoma's wireless HDMI device, the WHD200

Does that mean that one of the HDMI ports could be used, via some kind of adapter, to read a USB key? In fact, I only need my USB key and my external hard drive to display photos and texts.

no, it's not possible, you have to go through the computer.

I just found the solution: my VP has an HDMI port, I bought a gateway for €35 that can read all files. I plug in my USB stick or others. Perfect
      Thanks everyone
