Graphics card not detected by my screen

Hello to you and thank you for your time,

I am currently in the midst of depression. I have a tower with an AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card. I was casually playing LoL this afternoon when suddenly my screen went completely black and nothing responded. I decided to restart, and after the reboot, I realized that my graphics card was no longer detected. I saw that there was an update on Windows Update, so I did it and the problem was solved. My GPU was detected again.

Unfortunately, 2-3 hours later -> same problem. Except that this time my screens (directly connected to the GPU) do not detect any input, whether via DisplayPort or HDMI after the restart :/. I really have no idea what I can do.

Maybe a driver issue, but how can I install the right one if I don't have a screen?

Is it possible that the GPU is dead even though it was working perfectly before and that I've only had it for a little over a month (no shocks, nothing)?

Thank you in advance for your help, if you have any leads I’m all ears :(.

    Hello Papagnou,
"My GPU is detected again": This is a problem with Windows. One might think so since there was an update.
"Unfortunately, 2-3 hours later -> same issue": That's a lot for Windows causing problems.
One might think that your GPU is failing (and why not after all?).
Try connecting your monitor to a video output on your motherboard. If the screen turns on, it's your graphics card that's failing.
    Best regards!

    Hi txiki,

I tried connecting my screen to my CPU/motherboard (plugging it into the top of the tower) and I still have no signal either :/. After, I think I don't have an integrated GPU in my processor so maybe that's why?

    Thanks for your help

If you have a video connector (for the screen), it should light up. Do you have another screen to check? On the motherboard or graphics card. Why wouldn’t the screen be dead? That needs to be checked anyway...

Yes, I have a second monitor and I just retested. No signal, whether I connect it to the graphics card or to the motherboard :/.
