Split screen divided into 2 parts

Hello,

I have an extended screen (LG/INTEL W1946) for which I wanted to increase the contrast. After several adjustments, I now have two colors on the extended screen: a light blue on the left and white on the right. Regardless of the software used on this extended screen, I can clearly read the texts in black, but I have a bluish left half and the other half is white.

On my main screen, I have another problem: my texts under the file icons on the desktop are not sharp. The letters appear "dug in" on the inside, which makes them less clear.

How can I remove this visualization?

Thank you in advance

    Hello
Despite this defect, your screen works, so there's no need to replace the motherboard (it's not a motherboard but an electronic component that allows information to be displayed on a screen).
Furthermore, your screen is too old, yeah!, and you're certainly not going to find this board except second-hand... You can try searching online, but if I were you, I would be cautious.
If you can't restore the initial state, plan on replacing your screen. It will cost you less than struggling for a long time....
"So, what should I do?": continue the adjustments.
    Good luck!

    Hello NEOPHYTE4,
Don't throw it away yet, show it to a repairman (even if you don't have it repaired). He'll quickly see if it's fixable or not, and at what cost, but for that, he needs to be honest, which you might know him to be, (and that's a win!). He'll probably try to sell you one.

    Best regards!

    Hello NEOPHYTE4,
"I have an extended screen": that doesn't exist. You're probably talking about an extended desktop (with 2 screens)?
Clarification: what do you mean by extended screen?
"on the extended screen, in two colors:": What manipulations?
From what I understand, your screen is split in 2. Right?
"on the left a light blue and on the right a white": I didn't know that was possible, with command buttons I mean.
"Whatever the software used on this extended screen": Do you mean that you configured Windows to have an extended desktop on a single screen?
    Best regards!

    Good evening Txiti,

    Thank you for your reply.

I have an extended desk setup with 2 screens. One main screen that is part of my PC + a separate screen connected by a cable.

On the separate screen, due to a mistake, I am seeing all sorts of things, but the left half has a light blueish background and the right half has a normal and usual background. I reached this result because I wanted to achieve a greater contrast with this separate screen.

How can I get a normal background on the left like the one currently on the right?

    Thank you for your advice.

    Best regards

That's exactly what I thought I understood, an extended desktop with 2 screens. It makes much more sense.
"following a bad manipulation": that's what intrigues me. How did you manage to divide the background of your screen?
"I wanted to achieve a greater contrast": that doesn't explain the division of your screen!
What is the brand and model of that screen?
In the documentation, if you still have it, you should find a way to return to the factory settings of the screen.
    Best regards!

My extended screen is an LG FLATRON W1946S-BF. I have had it for several years (at least 10 years) and no longer have the printed documentation.

I just looked on the LG website and the model must be too old because when I answer their questionnaire, they indicate that the model is unknown.

      Hello Txiki,

Here is LG's response regarding my monitor:

      "
Regarding your request for a Flatron W1946S-BF monitor, there is no link to download the requested file.

According to the information provided in the technical documents, the original motherboard is supplied with this configuration.
The reference for the original motherboard is EBU60785606.
         "

      So, what should I do?

      Thank you for your reply.

    Hello Txiti,

I tried using another screen that was lent to me and there I didn't have the problem. So, as you told me, I will buy a new extended screen. You're right, it's the best solution.

    Thank you for your advice

    Have a good day

    Hello Txiti,

I'll be seeing a repairman I know tomorrow morning. He isn't the type to push a sale. But my screen is still very old. Plus, if I buy one, I'll get a slightly bigger one.

    Thanks

Have a great rest of the day

Very well, plus if he is old you will have fewer regrets....
Have a good day to you too!
