How to send an article on leboncoin without a shipping label?
Jojo -
Hello
A buyer has purchased one of my items that I'm selling on Le Bon Coin.
Since it's an expensive item, I decided to offer free shipping for the buyer when I posted my ad online.
So I didn't check any box on the 3 shipping methods: tracked mail, Colissimo, or Mondial Relay.
I chose: "Other shipping method
0 €
the seller will communicate the terms of the shipping method they have chosen."
But I don't know how I'm going to send the item? By post? If so, will I have a tracking number and a delivery receipt once the buyer receives the item?
I'm afraid the buyer is a scammer. I don't want to get scammed.
I have the buyer's address where I need to send the package within 72 hours. What shipping method should I choose at the post office to avoid getting scammed?
Because I have the buyer's address but no shipping label since when I created my ad, I didn't choose any shipping method i.e., tracked mail, Mondial Relay, or Colissimo?
So should I write the address manually and paste it on the package before sending it via the post office?

Hello
Simple question:
Have you been able to verify any information about this buyer? Through cross-checking and searching the internet?
Is their profile new, recent, or has it been around for a few years?
How will the payment be made and when?
What field does the item belong to?
Sales on "Le Bon Coin" are risky UNLESS they are done in person.
However, if you decide to go ahead, it will be at your own risk, but at the very least, take photos of the item outside its packaging before shipping, photos of the package before shipping, and if it's a functional item, one or more videos showing its operation.
Always send with tracking so you have proof it was delivered in person.
Do some research and you will see that scams are rampant, both on the buyer's and seller's side; by only selling to people you can meet, you'll limit the risks.
Best regards
Not recent but still valid, to read even if it's incomplete because national scams have evolved significantly.
And also 22 tips.
Her profile is not new, she has been registered on leboncoin since 2017. But it's a bit shady because her username on leboncoin is "maria" but on the address where I need to send the item her name is "Flore Dupont."
So I wonder if she gave me a fake address where I have to send the item?
I don't know if this is a scam attempt or not from this buyer.
No one can respond unless they conduct a little investigation; an email address means nothing, but an account can be hacked.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fortune-teller, and moreover, you don't answer any questions.
"Is her profile new or recent or has it been around for a few years?"
Her profile is not new but it's strange because I received messages from her first account on Le Bon Coin and then she made me an offer for the item and paid using a second account.
Here is her first account: Profile of TAM (leboncoin.fr)
And her second account: Profile of mariab (leboncoin.fr)
It's odd and a bit suspicious because on the conversation page with this buyer, both are in Indre et Loire while the address to which I must send the item is located in the Paris region: 94120 Fontenay sous Bois.
On the conversation page on Le Bon Coin, under her profile on her first profile (TAM) it says:
About this buyer
Member since October 2017
9 transactions completed with secure payment via Le Bon Coin.
And under her second account (mariab) it says:
About this buyer
So I fear that she gave me a false address even though she made the payment correctly on Le Bon Coin, she could say she never received the package, which means she would receive a refund and the item would not be returned to me?
Because the package does not have my address (me as the sender) marked on it. It only shows the (fake) recipient's address because I do not have a shipping label since I decided to deliver the package myself (I offered free delivery for the buyer so I did not check any of the 3 following boxes: tracked mail, Colissimo, or Mondial Relay).
How should I send it so that if it is a false address, the package will be returned to me?
"How will the payment be made and when? In what area is the item?"
The payment, as I mentioned earlier, was made via Le Bon Coin. It’s stated, I quote:
"
Secure payment
Good news! mariab has made a purchase of €190.00 and paid for the delivery fees for the delivery method you defined. You have 48 hours to confirm the availability of her order. After this period, the purchase will be canceled."
But despite this, I think it is an attempted scam for the reasons mentioned above, and also because the name to which I have to send the item is very questionable. I must send it to "Flore DUPONT" while on her profile on Le Bon Coin she goes by "Mariab" or "TAM" and not Flore DUPONT.
Once again, no one is a fortune teller; the upside is that the buyer is using the leboncoin system. So, they are responsible in case of a problem. LBC outlines the steps in case of a sale via their payment system and delivery tracking.
The downside is that you didn't choose the delivery included option, and LBC doesn't specify what happens if the buyer contests the condition and uses it as an excuse not to pay. If they don't take action, it gets paid after 3 days, but if they contest, nothing is detailed.

Hence the importance of video photos before shipping, including packaging and proof of postal receipt. Having a minimum of evidence.
There won't be a false address; if it's a real scam (nothing proves that for now), their goal is to take the package, not to send it anywhere.
You have committed, so you have an obligation to ship; if you don't do it, you could at worst be excluded from leboncoin. The buyer will not lose since you won’t have the money. But you won't be able to relist it for sale.

But if you see the transaction on your account and not by email or SMS, that’s already a good sign.
If they contest, they must prove it; some try to disassemble the device partially to say it’s broken to retrieve both the money AND the device. Legally, a second-hand item is bought as is, so there’s no warranty, but here the judge is leboncoin, which is neither a lawyer nor a technician.
This is the kind of thing that can be more easily avoided by selling locally only.
The rest depends on you and you alone.
