USB transfer, Infinix to PC

Hello,

I just bought a computer, it runs on Windows 10. I would like to transfer files from my Infinix Note 7 phone to my PC, but the phone does not show up on the machine. It's not a USB cable problem since it works elsewhere. I tried with another phone and it doesn't show up either.

What should I do? Do I need to install something on the computer? A friend told me to download drivers, but I don't know if I installed the right ones.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you for your response.

I have performed all the operations that seemed to correspond to my issue. I tried connecting a box and it works. It normally appears in the file explorer.

But every time I connect a mobile phone, it does not appear on the machine. Not even in the list of connected devices.

Some brands use proprietary software to manage transfers (check their website or on Google Play). I don’t know the Infinix brand, but to my knowledge, Android 10 is compatible with Windows 10, and you shouldn’t even have to worry about installing a driver.

Also, check if you have a utility named "my files" that allows access to the smartphone’s storage (internal or USB drive, SD card) and perform transfers.

But the mobile needs to be recognized. Test it on another PC.

Hello,

I don't know the model either, but remember that on a number of slightly older models, you not only need a data USB cable (and not just a charging one) but also that in the developer options of the phone, the USB debugging option must be enabled.

Phones running newer Android versions, on the other hand, provide a multimedia or USB storage connection notification that must be accepted and which may have a bit of latency.

Regarding drivers, most phones use the standard Google adb driver, which needs to be installed on the PC if necessary, and can be downloaded, for example, here (only this one):

https://www.frandroid.com/android/rom-custom-2/403222_comment-telecharger-les-outils-adb-et-fastboot-sur-windows-macos-et-linux

Some brands, like Samsung for example, resist and use proprietary adb drivers that need to be substituted for the standard ones.

Thank you for your responses,

So, I’m already used to connecting my phone to PCs, it’s just with this one that I encountered this problem, so I think the issue must be with it.

Otherwise, I remembered that we could transfer files via Xender between PC and phone, and that's what I’m currently using as a workaround.

I will stop installing drivers and other stuff, at the risk of making a mistake without being careful.

Thanks again.
