Fraudulent charge Digital River Ireland, Ltd.

Audissou -
 SIEGBURG -

Hello,

I have just been charged €42.99 on my Ppal account in favor of Digital River Ireland, Ltd. I do not know this company and I don’t even know what they sell.

I am disheartened because since I opened my Ppal account in 2008, this is the first time this has happened to me.

What action do you recommend?

Thank you for your advice.

    Hello,

You probably subscribed to a recurring payment via PayPal

    Look here: https://www.google.com/search?q=annuler+paiement+r&eacute%3B%3B%3B%3B%3Bcurrent_paypal=

Then you can read the response here https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Security-and-Fraud/who-is-Digital-River-Ireland-Ltd/td-p/1980087

Digital River is an ecommerce payment company. They don't fraudulently take your money. They partner with companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Razr, McAfee, Avast, etc. If you buy from those websites, your charge may show up as from Digital River. They also handle subscriptions. A lot of times what happens is people accept a free trial for a product, like antivirus, and forget to cancel and it auto-renews. Be careful what you accept Again... Digital River just handles the orders and payments submitted by partner companies.

So this could be the payment for your Avast subscription, etc...

Thank you for your responses. I will be more careful in the future. I have requested a payment cancellation. I hope it will be retroactive.

I just reported the information to Paypal and for them it's normal.

It seems that the scam is coming from them.

    Hello.

On PayPal, you can track your subscriptions and you can cancel them.

    What is mentioned at:

PayPal, Settings, Payments, Manage Automatic Payments. Disable those that don't suit you.

I called PayPal directly, and they opened a dispute. It should be noted that I had 4 withdrawals over 2 years of various amounts, but I hadn't noticed them since I was using PayPal very little at that time.

On your app, go to help and give them a call; they are very responsive.

    Best regards
