Acer Nitro 5 black screen
muso -
Hello, I just bought an Acer Nitro 5 laptop and I am facing a black screen issue. After a restart, the laptop didn't turn back on. After turning it on myself, the small blue light and the keyboard LEDs are on, but nothing happens on the screen. It remains black.

Hello
After a restart
What was the reason for restarting? What modification, for example, required the restart?
Which version of Windows exactly?
Lots of unclear things right now with the updates
Recent black screens on Win 11 especially since 08/25/2022 but it continues:
Stick to simple solutions. It often works.
Curiously, it may be the most recent versions that could be buggy on Win 11,
Not all PCs have the same bugs or the same solutions,
>either restart the explorer
>or press 4 keys win+ctrl+shift+B
>workaround - unplug the PC power supply - power button
>- do not hesitate to test and stay a while on an older driver version if it works again
>- for Nvidia graphics cards and Win 11 errors with the latest Nvidia drivers for some PCs (black screen or 15 to 20 fps)
>-Performance losses in games with AMD processors and Win 11
>or try to revert to the previous version of Win 11 before the black screen [without loss of data or applications]
>_if it doesn't work well maybe wait for Win 11 to fix bugs (A second part of the Windows 11- 22H2 version would only be released in October?)

While reading the following 3 tutorials that indicate why and how, 5 tutorials for a black screen,
start with all the very basic, simple, and quick solutions, a few clicks and restart for many of them, there are about ten in total in all these tutorials, before reinstalling the previous version, (this is the last thing to try).
Rather than trying to too much repair or reset Windows registry or PC> manipulations that will break Windows, delete data, and require reinstalling all programs and applications, (set aside)
there is one method explained that reinstalls Win 11 [without loss of data or applications], only take that one as a last resort.
Yes, okay, but in the tutorial, they don't explain anything when the screen is off. I wonder what to do if the screen doesn't work at all.
1st tutorial
1st solution:
> Check that the battery is sufficiently charged (yes, sometimes just recharging it is enough for it to start up properly afterwards!)
2nd solution:
> Unplug the power cord. If it's a laptop, remove the battery (if possible; if not, skip this step). Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and restart the computer. (yes, sometimes it turns on and that's good)
3rd solution:
Just forgetting to remove a USB stick still plugged into the machine when shutting down can result in a black screen with only a blinking white cursor when you try to turn the PC back on. Remove the USB stick from its slot. The startup should resume normally. If not, press and hold the power button of the computer for several seconds to force it to shut down, then turn it back on. (sometimes it turns on and that's good)
4th solution:
An external device connected to the PC might also be causing the malfunction: a printer, an external hard drive, an accessory... When in doubt, unplug all devices connected to the computer and try to turn it on. If it starts up normally, the culprit is among your devices (or the cables used to connect them). Check by connecting each device one at a time and observing the Windows notifications. (sometimes we find a culprit and it turns on)
5th solution:
Check that Windows has loaded properly. To do this, press the keys Win + Ctrl + Shift + B. A beep should sound and the screen should fade out before coming back on. Windows is trying to refresh the display here. (if the screen lights up, that’s good)
6th solution:
Press the keys Win + P on the keyboard. Then press the down arrow key once and confirm with Enter. Yes, you press 4 keys while the screen is off.
Explanation of why you were asked to do this:
Your machine may have attempted to display Windows on a second screen (which doesn’t exist). This situation can occur when the computer has both an integrated graphics processor and a separate graphics card. The keyboard shortcut allows you to switch to the primary display. (choose the main screen and hit enter, if the screen turns on, that's good).
There are images in the tutorial to help you understand what you’re doing without seeing, since your screen is off.
7th solution:
If Windows loads normally and the screen goes black just before or after logging in, we can rule out a hardware problem. A faulty driver is likely the cause of the issue.
Start in safe mode (a small attempt to start in safe mode to determine if a driver is causing the issue; it might accept to turn on in safe mode, follow the procedure and depending on what happens, look for another driver, or we know it doesn't come from a driver)
8th solution:
Some checks explained to see if the solution to the screen blockage is in the game settings (either we find it and the screen turns on, or it doesn't come from the game settings)
In the first tutorial, I already saw 8 opportunities to turn the screen back on.
The tutorial told me at least 8 times what to do, how to do it, and in what order to attempt to get the screen to light up while looking for many possible causes.
The problem may already be solved, or I can continue.

End of the first tutorial, move on to the next tutorial if the PC hasn’t woken up yet.

As I read the tutorial, I only do what is simple and quick, and corresponds to my PC.
