Web browser that no longer produces sound

Hello everyone!
I would like to know if someone could help me with my problem concerning the lack of sound output (for example, YouTube videos) on web browsers (Firefox, Edge, Chrome...) on my Lenovo laptop (no, this is not a sponsored post ;) ).
So, to solve this issue, I have already tried, as recommended everywhere on the internet, to check the sound mixer, with no results (everything is normal), I updated my speaker driver, I checked the permissions for software to use the speaker...
Anyway, nothing is working...
So if anyone has an idea, I would be more than happy to hear it.

Hello,
Could you specify whether you notice this lack of sound only on audio documents present in browsers or across your entire environment, particularly if you click on the sound bar in the taskbar (a sound signal should play).
For more effective assistance from one of the CCM specialists, it would be helpful to indicate the precise model of Lenovo and the version of Windows.
If no sound is available, you should try uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card.
If the problem is only found in browsers, download a multimedia document (video, podcast, or music) and check what happens when you open it outside the browser (VLC, Windows Media Player, or another player).
However, it would be surprising if the issue only concerned the browsers.

Hello
As you suggested, I downloaded a video and opened it on my computer using the basic media player from Windows, the result was conclusive, the sound worked, however, nothing has changed for the browsers...
When I change the sound volume in the taskbar, nothing comes out (no sound).
The model of my computer is the Lenovo ideapad 5, and I am using Windows 11.

When I change the sound volume in the taskbar, nothing comes out (no sound). It wasn’t about amplifying the sound (absent) on your browsers, but clicking on the speaker slider in the taskbar (without sliding it) to check if a sound signal (a note) occurs.
Nevertheless, your trial allowed us to confirm that the sound card (and thus the driver) is functioning.
I don't see at first why only the browsers are having issues. On YouTube and generally on windows corresponding to video files, you also need to adjust the sound level with the slider that appears at the bottom of the video window, which sometimes defaults to zero.
Otherwise, I think other participants will make suggestions.

After correctly clicking on the speaker slider, still nothing...
On YouTube, nothing reported, all the sound gauges are at maximum.

You did not specify whether you recently changed your version of Windows, nor if you heard a sound signal when clicking, nor if you tried playing again with WMP.
Thank you for these responses, which will allow other readers to formulate hypotheses. We now know that the PC is functioning (at least in terms of its startup functions). The sound works except with VLC and browsers. I can only see a "bad" installation of VLC because it is not necessary to associate multimedia files with a player.
For VLC, make sure you have installed the correct version (for 64 bits) and from a reliable source (direct from the publisher or CCM).
No, I do not hear any sound signal when clicking this, however, is not normal; we should hear what is called a system sound, even if no sound file is called.
Furthermore, for browsers, do you have sound when you use the default browser, namely Edge (even if you change it later?)
That said, rather than struggling to repair a new PC, and in the absence of intervention from another subscriber, I will not hesitate to return the computer within a week to the retailer (if possible), for testing or advice, although I do not think it is a hardware failure.
Hello hello, I finally managed to solve the problem through a partial reset of my computer.
So here it is, if someone has the same problem I had, you need to go into settings, then click on advanced restart, after that you will have several options.
You should choose the option to reset the computer while keeping the data, then TADA MAGIC!

Hello,
Thank you for the feedback. This is a solution often recommended by various stakeholders to address issues whose origin is not apparent. Well done for your initiative and best wishes for your continued efforts.
