Connect USB to TV

Hello. I was given a flash drive with a movie that interests me. I connected the drive to the big TV, and normally a message should appear right away saying that the drive has been detected. However, nothing happens. If I go to source and USB, when I click on movies, it displays: insert a drive. So my drive is not being detected, and I would like to know what to do. Thank you everyone for your help.

Hello,
Your USB drive may be bad, dead, out of order...???
The video files it contains might be incompatible with your TV's capabilities (check the manual)
The formatting of your USB drive may not be what your TV requires..??
This USB port on your TV may not be for playing videos..???
These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself... We can't guess anything because you aren't providing any technical specifications, not even the model of your "Grandin" TV or your USB drive..????????

Hello, have you tested this USB drive on a PC?

Hello everyone,
To reduce disrespectful intrusions, we should be able to rate questions (negatively for the intended goal) and not just answers, as I recently suggested for the open survey on changes to be introduced (not getting my hopes up too high). Of course, it shouldn't be about whether a question displeases someone or not, but that it (or the subsequent thread) meets specific criteria listed and displayed in a checkbox format. I will already exclude politeness as that sets the bar too high and only concerns a small (but relatively significant) number of visitors.
We obviously need to avoid witch hunts; it would be more about smoothing out, what electronic engineers call a high-pass filter, which eliminates unwanted low frequencies, to remove behaviors that clearly do not match the spirit of mutual assistance.
On the other hand: lack of response to requests for clarification, absence of thanks (common), failure to communicate the results obtained (almost universal), intentional duplicates, attempts to exploit CCM subscribers, providing illicit links, and more..
Statistics could help measure the evolution of the forum based on penalties modeled after the points system, even if this "model" may be criticized by proponents of the Wild West law.
