Firmware update for WiFi repeater

Hello,
I just acquired a JOOWIN WR758AC WIFI repeater. When I'm connected via this repeater, it works quite well but I also experience internet dropouts. The manual specifies that, in this case, I need to update the firmware available for download on the joo-win.com site. So far, so good, but it gets tricky when I try to load the file (Firmware-V1.2.0) into the JOOWIN app. A message indicates that the downloaded file is not valid.
It seems like a file extension issue because the file downloaded in format .1, and when I try to open it, I'm asked which application to use. Not knowing this extension, I don't know which one to choose...
Does anyone have any expert advice on this topic?
Thank you very much for your replies...

Hello.
Probably a download error.
Your repeater comes in two versions, V1 and V2, so make sure to download the firmware corresponding to your repeater's version. As for the file, it is in .bin. I downloaded both versions available on this page and I have uploaded them for you; they are compressed files that you can unzip with 7-Zip:
To download them, click on the small arrow

Hello,
Thank you very much because your response allowed me to get the correct file extension in .bin. However, I don't understand why the firmware I downloaded was in .1. A mystery....
I loaded it without any problem in the app. Now, I just need to test if this is really the cause of the internet disconnections via my repeater. Do you have an opinion on this and the actual effectiveness of a repeater?
Thanks again....
On the other hand, I don't understand why the firmware I downloaded was in .1
As I mentioned earlier, it's a downloading error; it happens sometimes, which is why I downloaded it and uploaded it for you.
Do you have an opinion on this and the actual effectiveness of a repeater?
Repeaters are not the best solution.
The best solution is a mesh WiFi system; it allows you to have the same WiFi everywhere, meaning with the same WiFi key as your box. Here is a EXAMPLE of MESH WiFi and explanations on how it works ON THIS PAGE.
