Hello, here's the situation: I recently ordered a new gaming setup, but when I placed the order, I didn't pay attention and I ended up ordering a single 16GB 3600MHz stick instead of the two 8GB 3600MHz sticks that I thought I was ordering.

Is it a problem to use just one stick for gaming and browsing the internet, or should I order another 16GB stick? Thanks in advance for your responses.

P.S.: The stick is a Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 16GB 3600MHz.

Hello,

If your PC can support the 16 GB RAM stick, keep your PC in that configuration. If it's for gaming and browsing the Internet, that's more than enough.

The ideal situation would have been for you to use 2 8GB sticks or 2 16GB sticks designed to work together in dual channel.

But with a 16 GB one it will work too........

Yes, it works without any problems, however two 8GB sticks are a tad more productive than a single 16GB stick, which is why epango says that two sticks is ideal.

Ideal for dual channel.....yes....with an Athlon XP 3200 from 2003.... today with a Ryzen 5600X it will be measured in milliseconds on a one-hour benchmark.... in normal usage it is impossible to quantify.

Not that I'm saying it's useless, don't put words in my mouth, but today the benefits of dual channel have become an anachronism, almost an urban legend with a long life.....except for the manufacturers who sell the kits at "adjusted" prices...(!)

It happens that we find 2 stick games that are priced the same or cheaper than similar sticks sold separately. Some say that one can gain between 8 and 16% in performance between single channel operation and dual channel operation.
