Bluetooth avec 2 haut-parleurs

I now have a 2nd Bose S1 Pro speaker for my dance class. Bad surprise: it is impossible to connect a laptop that has Bluetooth to 2 Bose S1 Pro speakers at the same time. Only one is supported. The solution is to connect the 2 speakers via cable, with the second becoming a “satellite” of the first. But the idea was precisely to eliminate cables and use only Bluetooth. It is feasible, but only with a smartphone or tablet through the Bose Connect app, not with a laptop. This makes no sense to me since all these devices are equipped with Bluetooth. Why make an exclusion for laptops?
I am disappointed… these speakers cost €600 each and one does not expect such nonsense!
And the Bose technician I contacted is adamant about this.
Does anyone have an alternative solution to propose?

It seems that it doesn't exist... Not in dual mono, nor in dual stereo... To be fair, it requires having two identities...
Perhaps by using two different brands, you could pair them on the same BT..?? and it would remain monophonic...
Does that mean the "Bose Connect" app only works on Android..??
It's quite strange that we can't do the same thing on Windows or Linux..??
But it’s poorly thought out by Bose because these speakers, which are of excellent audio quality, are often used by people or organizations who would rather use a PC than a smartphone for their semi-professional activities. For me, it’s for dance classes, but one can imagine sound design for a fairly large room for various events with music.
A smartphone has a small screen, which is less practical than a PC for someone who uses it for hours.
I used a Bose S1 Pro speaker for three years (excluding Covid...), I’m buying a second one to have a nice sound system and enjoy the lack of cables thanks to Bluetooth, and I’m thrilled!
Then there’s the purchase of a tablet, but it’s silly if you already own a laptop that you’re used to.
If I were you, I would try out the "good buddy" tablet before buying it... Just to make sure it actually works.
I should add that when I tried using a smartphone to download Bose Connect, which is completely free, they immediately asked for a credit card number.
I don't like that, and my trial ended there.
Since I have plenty of cables and extensions of all kinds for the sound system I used before Covid, I have everything needed to connect the two speakers by running the cable along the walls.
And it works like a charm!
But, it's still a bit of a hassle since the two speakers work via Bluetooth and on battery.
All of this is strange, one might wonder how those who connect a pair of headphones do it... By the way, I have that on a TV and it works... But it's a small electronic module that plugs into the USB to get 5 volts and is connected to the headphone or extra speaker jack... I think it could work in your case..??
Maybe also the small USB dongles (wifi+BT) that can be added to the ports of your PC... then, you have to pair both at the same time... some BT devices don’t agree to pair with two peripherals.

This is what I use... you need BT version 5 or 5.1

But, it still has to be possible to pair them?
Here, it's mainly about devices to add Bluetooth to devices that don't have it, which is not my case.
I'm going to ask around to see if someone has one at home that they could lend me for an experiment. At the same time, it doesn't cost much...
I'll look into it!
Thanks for the information.
This device adds a Bluetooth to the one you already have, but on the waves, it must have another name... that's what I can see at home... You might be able to disable the one from your PC to keep only this one active?? We'll see.
For pairing, it might happen automatically (for me, it happens in 30 seconds)... If you have to choose from a menu on your speakers, you should see the name of this device appear... and you confirm...
Logically, there should be one for the right ear and the other for the left... that's stereo.
You might have to try several times to achieve it... let's also say that for the price, the risk isn't huge...!!!
Well, it doesn't work: no way to pair the 2 speakers at the same time. I've tried just about everything within my knowledge, but the PC continues to find a speaker 1 and a speaker 2 and only wants to pair with one of the 2 as a choice.
But maybe the problem comes from the Bose speakers which are designed that way?
I'll keep the small adapter though, as it seems that its Bluetooth has a longer range than the PC's.
And to pair the 2 speakers, it will be a good old cable.
Thanks for trying to help me.
Well, your cable will work...
Hello,
I want to bring up the subject again because I also got caught....
Let me explain, I bought 4 Bose S1 Pro, and so far they sound good but only with 2.
Indeed, Bose Connect was only developed for Android and Apple, and it's a real disaster.... not only does it bug often, but there's no way to get all 4 S1 Pros working through Connect since it only manages 2 speakers.
But the worst part is that in Bluetooth mode, we can't even use the auxiliary outputs, which are only available in jack at the same time as Bluetooth?
It's simply unbelievable for equipment at this price, which means that their advertising for Bluetooth connections is misleading; under these conditions, it's not even a semi-professional system....
So I have to connect everything wired and also have at least a sound card with 2x2 stereo outputs....
I'm going to check this today, but I find it absolutely unacceptable if that's the case... and consumer protection/fraud repression for defect and deception....
I don't want to get too worked up, but this changes all my plans...
I'll keep you updated during the day..... and if you have any ideas, please let me know....
Thanks in advance ...
It’s sorted with the Bose Hotline, but it was a hassle, and yes, it works on lineout
when boseconnect is on Bluetooth....still no development for PC planned....
I'm going to try virtualization, Bluestack doesn't work, I'm looking to
install macOS via Virtual Box....
Actually, you just need to reset the Bose by pressing the button
on the back of the speakers for 10 to 12 seconds, then, and especially, only declare one in the phone, tablet, or Mac in the Bluetooth settings, otherwise it might create conflicts....
The Bluetooth connection in stereo happens between 2 speakers that communicate with each other....
Turn off the speaker, press for 2/3 seconds to activate the Bluetooth on the back of the speaker, then and only then launch Boseconnect....
Honestly, even with the Hotline guy, it took us a good while...
Because the first speaker is well detected, but the 2nd has a small cross, and that’s to say that the 2 speakers are in mono which can be confusing, so in the bottom right you need to click on Stereo....
I hope I was clear in my explanations, and if it can help others, all the better....
hello,
Yes, I have the same problem but with 4 S1 pros which makes me regret my purchase....
As for the parent company, they couldn't care less, not likely to buy from them again...
