LibreOffice Calc - Smooth Scrolling

Hello,

I find myself with some of my Calc files having a line that is as wide as the width of my screen (I know, it's quite rare, but in my case, it happens) and I notice that the vertical scrolling is just horrible in these situations, since LibreOffice has made the strange decision that a simple click of the mouse wheel makes us jump 3 lines at once (rather than doing a smooth scroll).

I tried to search for solutions myself, I even ended up finding in the LibreOffice documentation a tool that was called exactly "Smooth Scrolling" here: https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en/text/shared/optionen/01040200.html?DbPAR=WRITER&System=WIN
Unfortunately, this documentation must not be up to date, because no matter how much I search, there is nowhere to be found a parameter or tool called "Smooth Scrolling".

Could someone help me, please?

EDIT: After rechecking, I just found out that "Smooth Scrolling" is only present in LibreOffice Writer... and moreover, I see no difference when it is checked or not. So now, I am looking for another tool for LibreOffice Calc, hoping that one exists.

It is not LibreOffice
made the strange decision
etc.

LibreOffice simply applies the general mouse settings defined in Windows.

In Windows, go to:
Settings => Accessibility => Mouse => Related settings (mouse) => Scrolling
Indicate the number of lines to scroll at once: reduce from 4 to 1
(in Windows 10 it's faster: Settings => Devices => Mouse)

My apologies.
So it’s Microsoft that made a strange decision.

Moreover... thank you for the explanation.
However, it still doesn’t suit me.
If I have a line that is quite wide, the scroll remains huge, even at 1.
And to top it all off, this parameter doesn’t just change the scrolling of spreadsheets, but also that of other applications, like my Firefox here. And with this setting at 1, the scrolling in other applications is incredibly slow.

Would you happen to know another method for achieving acceptable scrolling, by any chance?

And with this parameter set to 1, scrolling is extremely slow in other applications.

That's why I didn't propose it directly, and the default value should be 4.

I don’t see a solution to your problem.
I conducted some tests. I noticed that the scrolling solution with the mouse wheel click doesn’t work.
It’s better with Excel, as clicking on the mouse wheel prevents the abrupt line jump.

Ah, that's too bad...

But thanks for the helpful information and clarifications.
I'll try to make do since I don't use Excel.

Hello,

Just click the central button of the mouse, or on the scroll wheel, which is usually clickable. You will be able to scroll continuously at the speed you want.

Hello,

Simple, but not practical at all. And I already knew the technique.

It's not what I'm looking for, but thank you anyway for trying to help me.

Hello,

Try purging the user profile.
Simplified procedure proposed by yclik
1- -Exit LibreOffice;
2- Press the Windows key (the little flag) while holding down the R key;
3- Type %appdata%;
4- Look for the LibreOffice folder and rename it to LibreOfficeold;
5- Restart LibreOffice.
Let us know how it goes.

Hello,

It's not likely to work since the scrolling is by default as I described above.
Resetting the settings won't change anything.

(I still tried it just in case, and I can confirm that it doesn't change anything.)
