LibreOffice Calc: exponentiation not working

Hello community,

While doing a physics lab, I encountered a problem with Libre Office Calc: the exponent doesn't work. Well, it does at first, the text set in exponent in the cell looks fine, but as soon as I change cells and come back, the text is back to normal. Despite my searches online (ctrl + p, right-click-character-position, right-click-toolbar-visible buttons, etc.), I always get the same awful result.

Not reproduced either on LibreOffice 5.2.6 or on LibreOffice 5.3.2, you might need to update if you have an old version:
