Hello, I put my Gmail emails that I want to keep in folders, I use "move to" and then to a label that I create. Although it is stated that they are kept for 30 days, I cannot find my emails even before 30 days. I would like to point out that I do the same with my Orange emails and I can keep them for years. Thank you in advance.

Hello,
As has already been explained, Gmail does not work like other messaging services...
All messages (including archived ones) can be found under the heading: "all messages"...
To sort them, you need to assign labels.
=> https://www.arobase.org/gmail/gmail-archiver-messages.htm
For this, there are two solutions...
Either by creating a filter (an automatic rule)
=> https://www.arobase.org/gmail/gmail-filtrer-messages.htm
Or by doing it manually
=> https://www.arobase.org/gmail/gmail-classer-messages-avec-libelles.htm
So then, your messages will indeed be in "all messages" and to find them by category according to the labels you have created... you just need to click on the corresponding label for the messages you have associated with it to be displayed....
If you set this up while you already have a large number of unclassified emails in "all messages", you can find similar ones using the search engine available in Gmail:
https://www.arobase.org/gmail/effectuer-recherche-messages-gmail.htm
You will find below all the tips to "tame" Gmail...
https://www.arobase.org/gmail/astuces-gmail.htm
NB ... for the labels to display in the left panel of Gmail, you also need to define the rules in the settings... Indeed, it is possible (for example) to display a label only if it contains an unread message... (etc... )

Hello,
With a label, the email remains permanently.
Have you enabled the option to archive messages?
In this specific case, they become invisible and to find them, you need to click on the option:
Show all messages.
You should be able to locate them by their subject

Good evening, thank you for this response, but what is the difference between archiving messages and moving messages? With my Orange emails, I move them and they go into the folders I've created and I can find them even years later.
I just tried clicking on archive, and I'm not being asked to create a label. I did what you suggested, "show messages," and I got some, but they are not grouped like with Orange. For example, if I click on a BHV folder, I find all the emails I have received or sent.
And what you say is unfortunately accurate.
A label is not a folder.
The reality in Gmail is that all messages are in a single inbox with a label.
But this label appears in the left panel that allows you to access directly the emails carrying it.
For example, what is highlighted in blue are labels from other email addresses with a color.
But you need to create a label only for received messages.
This way, the next time you receive an email from a specific address, it will be under this label.

Hello, there is indeed a problem: why with Orange emails I don't have any issues moving the emails I want to keep by creating labels, and with Gmail it's impossible. Who can inform me? Within your teams, there must be at least one IT technician who could resolve this issue.
