Hello,
I apologize in advance if my problem is already known or not, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I'm asking for help on this forum.
I've had fiber for a short time, I was connected via NETGEAR 2000-100FRS powerline, and then I ran a speed test on speedtest, and there I got 150Mbps download and 50-60 Mbps upload. Great!
Unfortunately, in the following days, my fiber line had issues, so I called Free, and they detected visible problems on my line. I had to connect my roommate's laptop directly to the box, and there I got crazy speeds between 800 and 900 Mbps download and 300-400 Mbps upload. Obviously, the issues on my line weren't resolved yet, so we regularly experienced drops in upload speed down to 0.5 Mbps, but the download never dropped (for my roommate, it was always above 800 Mbps, and for me, between 90 and 150 Mbps), which is enough for my download needs. Then, four days ago, not counting the drops due to the issues on our fiber line, my upload speed hasn't exceeded 4 Mbps (it stabilizes around 2 Mbps overall) all the time, even when my roommate's speed tests show 300-400 Mbps! So I bought a 10-meter RJ45 Cat7 cable yesterday to ensure a direct connection to my PC, and now for download, I get nearly 900 Mbps, but the upload is still the same, while my roommate's works well! Sometimes it doesn't work for both of us, but that's normal given our line hasn't been repaired yet, but when it works for him, I'm still stuck! I've tried reconnecting my powerlines, and I reset my entire network system, but nothing changed. I don't understand because I have an Intel(r) Ethernet Controller (3) i225-v, which is a good network card, and I've already had upload speeds of 50-70 Mbps, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm leaving a link for the speedtest stats in case it helps: https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20220529e80KmPyk/Io0gIwLd
Thank you!

Hi,
your problem is classic and completely normal:
Powerline adapters are the weights on a fiber connection, that's all.
They were able to keep up on an ADSL line, but they are (and always will be) completely outpaced on a fiber connection.
It's something I often repeat on this forum, and I'm not the only one.
As you can see for yourself, you need to replace your powerline adapters with a proper ethernet cable if you want to fully enjoy your fiber connection.
As for your upload, there may be some software limiting it on your PC.
You should test in safe mode with networking.

No,
you don't have to use the PC in safe mode all the time, you need to find which software is causing that.
The leads are "network optimizer," firewall, antivirus....
It should be the biggest one.

When I installed Free to replace SFR, I encountered a speed issue on the PC (located about ten meters from the box): 27 Mb/s down/10 Mb/s up, sometimes less, while my iPhone shows good levels of 160/140. While browsing forums like this one, I discovered that the network card was on 2.4 GHz and that it should be on 5 GHz. I bought the same day (today) an adapter [AC600 Nano Wireless USB Adapter, a small USB stick, with installation CD, for 19 euros]. Without being an expert, I managed to figure it out, and very quickly I saw in the settings that the bandwidth had switched to 5 GHz, and it could provide 260/260. In fact, it gives me 180/100, obviously variable, but that suits me well.
I just tested in safe mode with network and it works perfectly,
now how can I find out which software is causing the problem since I haven't downloaded any software in the last few weeks?
Do I have to always use my PC in safe mode?
