Find a computer name from an IP address

Hello,
I have an IP address on a LAN and I would like to know if it's possible to find the name of the corresponding PC without having to run "ipconfig" on each machine..

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0

    Well, I have the IP address and the MAC address (arp -a on the server) but I'm feeling a bit stuck..
