Hello,
try to put your shared files in the "public" folder, which is usually accessible to everyone.
Otherwise, the best method is to create a user account identical to the one you use to log into the PC and grant it the necessary permissions on the folder you want to share (properties/security tab of the folder).

and ... There you go!

Hello brupala,

Thank you for the information, but it doesn't really apply to my situation. I’d like to explain it fully, but here it is...

I have two computers, a DESKTOP and a LAPTOP, on the same private network with Windows 10.

No problem with the DESKTOP, which is visible on the network and can be accessed. The DESKTOP can see the LAPTOP on the network and access it without issue.

As for the LAPTOP, it can see itself on the network and I can open it. It sees the DESKTOP but cannot open it. An error message appears... “\\DESKTOP is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource...”

I believe I’ve tried everything but to no avail. Do you have a solution?

Thanks in advance, and have a good evening or day, depending on the case.

The solution, I’ve given it to you, and I’ve always done it this way with the Windows network.
P.S.,
there’s no reason to have shares everywhere.
We choose a machine that will be the server and hosts the network shares, then we configure it so that others can access those shares.
By putting their user accounts on it.
It’s old, but it still works.
