Hello,
The screen of my 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is broken. Due to the announced repair price, I wanted to do a screen sharing via HDMI and use keyboard shortcuts, but now I have a new problem: with a Touch Bar, the FN(x) keys do not appear. I tried connecting a standard wired keyboard, but it doesn’t have a Cmd key. Are there other commands I can use with a standard keyboard?
In short, I'm a bit out of solutions.
If you have any other suggestions, I would be delighted.
Thank you very much.
Configuration: iPhone / Safari 15.4

Hello,
For Apple, once the device is booted up, with an external keyboard plugged in, an external mouse, and on a charger, you need to close the Mac's lid to force the image to output to an external display.
Let me know if that worked, you can also ask the repair technician to disconnect your screen, the Mac will have no choice but to display the output externally.
(Note that the camera will also be disabled)

Hello,
since I am not on a Mac, but rather on a Windows PC, I just need to plug in a screen with the appropriate cables, turn on the screen, and select the source on the TV screen (HDMI 1 or 2, VGA, or other ports) using the remote control of the second screen.
The second screen then displays the desktop, for example.
Perhaps in your case, you need an adapter; see the link below

As for your FN, I found this
https://communities.apple.com/fr/thread/220024288
hoping this helps you
