Hello,
I've been having a small issue for a few days, Google Chrome is downloading something by itself. There’s nothing in the "downloads" tab, nothing in my destination folder either.
However, when I try to close the page, I get the message "a download is in progress, do you want to leave?"
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, as well as checking my extensions, and running antivirus and anti-malware tests… nothing works. In the meantime, I've switched to another browser.
If you have a solution, please share it with me, as I'm a bit worried about what it could be.

Reset Chrome https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/19335-resetbrowser/ make sure to read the page as the effects of the reset are explained there.
