Intermittent screen snow, strange case

Hello, I'm contacting you because I have a problem with snow (white noise... multicolored static) on one of my two PC screens.

Here are the details:
- It only occurs on my screen connected via VGA, not on the other one via HDMI. Both are permanently connected, but I only have the snow on one of the two screens (the VGA).
- When I have this snow, turning the screen off and on again doesn't change anything.
- A simple log-off brings the image back. There's no need to go through with the disconnection; just clicking on "switch user" is enough to restore the image (I can see the session disconnecting right away because the snow disappears at that moment, I click "cancel" and that's enough).
- It happens when I'm on Netflix, and also when I'm doing nothing, suddenly it just appears like that.

Windows 11 is up to date, 2060 Super, drivers are current, 32GB of RAM recently changed, no issues with the screen connected via HDMI.

Do you have any idea? It happens to me at least once a day, if not more, and it's starting to get tedious. Thank you in advance :)

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 98.0

    Hi everyone,
"but I only have snow on one of the two screens (the VGA)": The VGA is an analog signal, the DVI is a digital signal.
On the DVI screen, do you see any pixelation, even slight?
If so, I think there’s a signal disturbance coming from the computer, from the motherboard then. No update

of anything will change that because it would be a physical issue with your motherboard, that’s what I think at the moment.

I say this because you’ve already tried updates.

Think about the TV. When it was analog, in case of a signal problem, it would show snow. Now, with digital terrestrial, in case of a problem, it pixelates or even freezes for a few seconds.
Well, your computer screen seems to do the same thing, that’s why I think about poor signal quality at times. Graphical processor issue? Graphics card?
    Best regards!

    Hello there!

I don't have another VGA cable, I'll order one to test.

Edit: I just checked, it's connected via DVI (on the GPU) -> VGA (on the monitor)

My other monitor is using HDMI, no pixelation at all. I really hope it's not the motherboard, the PC is a year and 2 months old, the warranty just expired.

    Hi Kaeleak,
It might be your VGA screen that's having an issue!
Do you have another screen to test?
Can you borrow one to see?
    Best regards!

    Hello everyone,
Kaeleak: "I just checked, he's connected via DVI (to the GPU) -> VGA (to the screen)": That shouldn't pose any problems to my knowledge.
So, if I understand correctly, your 2 screens are connected to the graphics card?
Does your screen not have a DVI connector?
Can your screen be connected to the motherboard?

madmyke: "The warranty is two years": And how do you know that?
    Best regards!

because the person is posting from France and the warranty in Europe is set at 2 years, this law has been applicable throughout Europe for quite some time.
A shorter warranty would be invalidated by this law.
UNLESS the purchase was made outside of Europe.

"and the warranty in Europe is set at 2 years": Is this applicable to all items purchased?
If so, thank you very much, I wasn't aware of that!

Since 2016 at the European level, previously in certain countries :-)

Hello and first of all, thank you for your responses.

    @txiki
The screen in question: SAMSUNG S24F350, which has only a VGA port and an HDMI. I made the mistake of buying it without checking the ports.
I could indeed check if the issue occurs again by connecting it via HDMI, which could prove that it’s really the screen that’s acting up.
I don’t have any connectors through the motherboard.

    @madmyke
Computer purchased from Dell through their website.

I didn’t have any snow last night; I unplugged and replugged the cable at the computer. Just to be sure, I will wait for the next snow, then test it with HDMI for a week.
I will come back to let you know more after that.
