1 HDMI port - Extend your desktop across 2 screens
Solvedrezberry -
I have a HP PAVILION GAMER laptop. This computer is set up on a low table under my desk. It is equipped with Windows 11 – NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 graphics card with a resolution of 1920*1080. This laptop only has one HDMI port.
I want to send the image from this laptop to two BENQ monitors set up on my work desk. My goal is to use these two BENQ screens as a workspace. I want to EXTEND my Windows desktop across the two monitors: for example, having an Excel file open on one screen and a Word document open on the other, and be able to move a document or video from one screen to the other.
What type of equipment can allow me to "duplicate" the image from my laptop to these two BENQ screens, and, more importantly, allow me to EXTEND my desktop to these two screens: the goal being to make these two screens a 2-in-1 setup.
I emphasize DUPLICATE and also, especially, EXTEND because that is my objective, as there seem to be types of equipment such as: HDMI hub, HDMI switch, or HDMI splitter that can help with having only one HDMI port, but depending on their designation, they may not achieve the goal I want, which is to extend my desktop.
Note:
According to the suitable equipment, I know that I need to configure Windows afterwards in EXTENDED mode, but before that, I obviously want to acquire the right equipment that allows the Windows EXTENDED functionality to apply to both screens.
Thank you for your advice and information on the appropriate equipment.
Best regards.

The issue has been resolved. From my laptop, which has an HDMI port and a USB-C port, I directly connected my first fixed screen via an HDMI cable to the HDMI port, and the second fixed screen was connected via an HDMI cable using an HDMI-USB-C adapter.
The separate connections allow me to have the image on both screens and also, and most importantly, in the Windows 11 settings - in the system section - then display, to select and configure extended mode.
In this way, my Windows desktop extends across both screens. I can read and watch a video on one while simultaneously working on a Word or Excel document on the other screen.
I only acquired an HDMI-USB-C adapter, which resolved my issue. I could have also purchased a USB-C hub that would have multiple connections: USB 2.0, USB 3.0, memory cards, VGA, but at least one HDMI connection, which I would have used to solve my problem.
Thank you all.
First of all, a big thank you to the person who replied to me simply, quickly, and effectively. It's nice to receive this kind of clear, straightforward, and precise answer.
I couldn't get any information from sellers, etc... And they were going to make me buy unsuitable equipment despite the description of my PC. So, sincere thanks to the person for their response!!!!
My PC has a SuperSpeed USB Type-C port, with a transfer speed of 10 Gbit/s (DisplayPort™ 1.4 and HP Sleep and Charge).
I will therefore buy an HDMI-USB-C adapter, and it will work physically; then I will configure Windows 11 for an extended display mode!!
I hope that the details mentioned above will be helpful to others.

you won't be able to extend the desktop through a single video output, but there is likely a second output on your PC that you need to use. (One monitor on the HDMI and one monitor on another output VGA, DisplayPort, USB-C to HDMI ... with an adapter)
Best regards.
"you will not be able to extend the desktop using a single video output": I confirm. You will need to use another VGA port or something else for that.
If the problem is resolved, don't forget:
1: to report it using the

2: to also specify how this problem was solved, it will help others.
Thank you in advance!

Happiness is the only thing that can be given without having it.
I am replying because I was able to buy a USB-C to HDMI adapter, which allows me to have 2 screens in extended mode (and not just duplicate) with this single adapter. I also have a third screen connected directly via HDMI. The three screens, including those plugged into the USB-C to HDMI adapter, display entirely different images.
For your information, I bought the BDFFLY USB C to HDMI adapter for 22 euros, which can be found on ama..on (I posted a comment with photos to prove that it works well). I also saw that star tech. com also makes this type of extended HDMI adapter, but it is much more expensive.
In short, I prefer to mention this, as I also thought it was not possible to have two screens on the same adapter in extended mode.
It's up to you to see if this can still be useful, but your solution seems to suit you :)
