Thumbnails disappear during editing

USER OF PINNACLE STUDIO 21 ULTIMATE

When selecting imported thumbnails from a floppy disk to place on the editing timeline.
After transferring a few thumbnails to an A/V track, only a few thumbnails remain, most have disappeared ??
To make them reappear, you have to bring the cursor of the timeline back to the beginning of the track. And then move the cursor back to where the new thumbnails are to be placed.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM???

    Hello and welcome as a new member. I believe you have read the CCM guidelines
    so I’m asking you for a few details: "vignettes imported from a floppy disk," what does it mean? It's the word "floppy disk." Do you have a bit of experience with it or not much? Please provide me with your PC configuration to rule out its role.

    So I'm going to ask you for some explanations, whether you're a regular at the studio or just starting out.
    I need to know your PC configuration.
    Imported thumbnails from a "diskette," is that a DVD?

    Thank you for your prompt response

    By "diskette," I meant an SD HC memory card used for camcorders that I insert into the computer for import into Pinnacle.

    I am fairly familiar with - but do not master - Pinnacle Studio, which I have been using for over 20 years.

    Here are some details about the computer in question (purchased in 2013):
    Intel Core i3 - 3220 CPU
    RAM 4.00 GB
    Operating system 64-bit x64 Processor
    Motherboard ASUS P8B75-M Power Supply LC POWER 550W
    Windows 10

    Good evening, I can already provide you with an answer. I think your RAM is insufficient.
    It is recommended to have at least 8 GB to run Windows 10 and a video editing software. Your processor is fine; you are within the requirements as we are looking at a CPU with a base frequency of over 3 GHz. I would also add that, (you don't mention your hard drive) currently, an SSD is essential for HD editing.
    For transferring content from your memory card, you can either use a utility provided by your camera or navigate to your memory card's menu, locate the largest file to copy into a folder that you can name "camera capture." You will have thumbnails corresponding to all your scenes. Open your software, look for your capture folder, click on the folder to import, and all your thumbnails will be in your album. Ok, drag or copy and paste them onto the timeline and start editing. I described this method so we can start from the same base.
    You have tutorials on YouTube for the software.
    While waiting for you to add at least one RAM stick, remember to free up memory before starting by "deleting rendered files" in the settings panel, storage location, and deleting rendered files, apply.
