Hello,
I am a new member of the community and I hope to contribute to those who are struggling with their office tools. For today, it's me who needs your advice.
I have owned a Brother DCP-L2530DW laser printer for 2 years. It regularly loses its Wi-Fi connection (Wi-Fi Direct interface) with our computers and the tablet. The message is "Out of connection."
I easily fix the problem by turning it off and on again.
I searched in the settings in vain.
My antivirus allows me to check all connected devices and I did not see any IP address conflicts.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards

    Hello,

You are talking about wifi-direct, that is to say the direct connection between the PC and the tablet on one hand and the printer on the other. As far as I know (having read about it and not experienced it myself), when you use the wifi network through the box (for example, to access the internet), the wifi-direct disconnects (this seems to be the normal operation).

Therefore, it would be necessary not to use the wifi-direct protocol and to re-establish a wifi network managed by the box between the three devices.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.
You are undoubtedly right and I will look into that.
I couldn't make the connection as you mentioned (WLAN WI-FI instead of Wi-FI Direct). I even lost connection after rebooting. I probably missed a setting.
I have restored the initial connection and I will revisit this configuration as soon as I have a little time.
I will keep you updated on the results.

    You can use these articles:

    https://www.commentcamarche.net/maison/reseau-wifi/1009-connecter-un-ordinateur-a-un-reseau-wi-fi/

to connect a printer via USB cable to a box, which will save you the hassle of connecting the printer over Wi-Fi to the box, unless you force the printer-box connection by not turning on the PC during the process (if this method is allowed by Brother, but I would be surprised if otherwise).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello,
Despite several attempts, I have been unable to resolve the issue.
I tried connecting to Wi-Fi by entering the access key, but in the end, the printer switches back to direct Wi-Fi (I see this when printing the network settings).
And with direct Wi-Fi, I have to regularly turn off the printer to restore the connection.
I still have one option left: connecting the printer to the Box via an Ethernet cable.
However, I am certain that there is a solution since the problem did not exist in the first few months after my purchase.
    Best regards.

same problem: no issues in the first months of use and now as soon as the printer goes into sleep mode, no connection; remedy: turn it off and then restart it (and this with all my devices). if you find the solution, I'm interested! thanks model MFC-J5335DW

    Hello,
    Eureka, it works.
    I manually reconfigured the connection
    Wireless LAN interface
    IP address
    subnet mask (that was missing)
gateway address (that was also missing)
And it has been 4 days since the connection has been working without incident
    Best regards
