Hello,
I've tried a lot of things, I reinstalled eMule, added it to exceptions with the Vista firewall, did the same with Avast... configured my ports in the router (NAT)... and KAD is still behind a firewall. If someone could help me, I haven't found anything on the forums.
thanks

Ok thanks, this is what I did in the router but in the Vista firewall, it says in the incoming connection rules: protocols and ports for eMule: local port: specific ports: TCP 4662, and then a port saying: all ports, do I need to enter something? Same for UDP 4672... local port, and for remote port I put all ports and not specific. Well, I tried to create a rule for outgoing connections but since they're allowed, I don't know if it matters? Thanks...

Are you still stuck with eMule? If so, do you have the Livebox as a modem? All of that comes from the box's settings, the UDP or whatever it is, it has nothing to do with it. You need to configure the firewall of the Livebox.

Is your computer on a static IP or on DHCP?
If you set an IP in the router, and your computer is set to DHCP, which means it changes IP often, that could be the issue. -
he has a static IP, with the ports listed in the router... thanks...
if you have another idea... -
In the router, the ports, did you set them for "TCP" and "UDP"
in the firewall as well
the incoming TCP and UDP ports, and the outgoing TCP and UDP ports, in the firewall
if yes, I don't see it, but I think there are a lot of problems with eMule on Vista
which version of eMule do you have
PS: these are just suggestions I'm giving you, so no irony please -
Okay, I had internet issues, I'm back,
so you mean I need to enter the same port for both TCP and UDP, then the second port for UDP and TCP too...? Or is it like starting port and ending port? Yes, I've entered them in the router, but in the firewall, I've only added the eMule exception port 4662 TCP and eMule 4672 UDP...? But yes, it seems like there's a lot of issues with eMule. I'm using version 0.48a... there you go, if you're still around. Thanks. -
You need to enter the firewall for the ports, TCP inbound and outbound, UDP inbound and outbound
for example 2657 UDP inbound and outbound
2647 TCP inbound and outbound
so 4 times (if you have the choice inbound and outbound (when I used Za, there was the choice)
you just authorized the outbound but not the inbound (maybe)
but if you have added it as an exception, it should work (I don't know the Vista firewall) there may be settings for inbound and outbound? -
As I told you above, I don't know the Vista firewall
search on Google for a link that describes the settings of this firewall well
or maybe someone who knows this firewall well can help you on this site -
Thank you, I've looked at nearly all the tutorials and other resources on Google and forums... and there’s no solution to the problem, the messages are too old or what’s written I've already done, I think eMule isn’t that great after all... well, thanks to you.

in case
you have activated the protocol obfuscation, in the eMule settings?
it happens to me sometimes too, KAD ends up with a yellow arrow for no reason, and then it turns green without me doing anything
and also, it's better not to leave the default ports, but to use others (indeed some Internet Service Providers block the default eMule ports) -
Hello,
I have the same problems, the thing is I don't understand anything about incoming ports, outgoing ports, TCP, UDP. Is there anyone who could sit down calmly and explain a bit to me? I have a Neuf Box 4, before I had a simple Sagem modem from Neuf and I didn't have this problem!!
So if there’s anyone who could help me, I’m all ears, thank you. -

and on the second link you choose your firewall. -
Hello,
I've followed all your advice but it still doesn't work, it's a nightmare
my kad is behind a firewall, I've tried everything, I can't make it work
help me
please -
Hi, I just replaced my computer and now I have Vista, and since then eMule isn't working anymore, KAD is behind a firewall (I know it's nothing original but I need help please). I configured the ports on my Livebox (Sagem), allowed eMule exceptions in my Windows firewall, I have Avira as my antivirus but even with it disabled, it's the same, so I don't think the problem comes from there. After going through countless forums and searches, I can't find a solution or a person who can help me, so please if anyone has the solution, thank you for helping me.

Hi Pom, and thanks for taking the time to reply to me. Yes, I've still got KAD blocked behind a firewall. I tried the settings you suggested, but it didn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong; if you could be more specific about the steps to take, that would be really cool. Thanks in advance, Pom.

Salut! I'm getting involved in the discussion, me too! Firewall issue "but novice" everything is fine! high id, green arrow on the earth but no kad; I have a Livebox port 25914 tcp; 25941 udp and I set the Livebox firewall to low? What more can I do? Thanks! I owe you one! I'd be happy to help (if I can).
