Hello,
I don't know much about computers, so I'm reaching out to the kind souls on the internet who might be able to advise me.
I have an HP computer on which I had the hard drive changed to make it more powerful and run smoother. But since then, to charge the PC, I have to turn it off. When my battery is almost empty, if I connect the charger to the computer, the screen goes completely black; if I unplug the charger, the screen returns to the previous page. In short, I can no longer work on my PC while it is charging!!
After reading a bit on the site, I went to settings, power, but I couldn't find anything about it.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 96.0.4664.45

Hello
This issue may occur when the power supply (the charger) ages and does not provide enough power to charge AND power the computer, hence the need to turn it off so it can charge... a little!
You will probably need to replace the power supply.
You can find this type of power supply either online with your HP model, or universal models (with adapters) in large retail stores (Boulanger, Fnac, etc.) but probably more expensive.
See you later

If the answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)
Let he who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse.

Thank you for your help ???? I will follow your advice and buy a new charger, we'll see how it goes.
Hello
You can bring your computer with you to the store and ask to test it before buying... It doesn't cost anything.
See you!
