Android projector and clock

Solved

Hello,

I would need a little help managing the operation of my projector.

I have had a Neopix Prime 2 from Philips since this summer. One of its advantages is that it is powered by Android, so it has applications directly installed on its hard drive.

My problem is that for these applications to function properly, the date and time must be synchronized. Unfortunately, every time I turn on the projector, the date and time reset (00:00 on 01/01/2007). I noticed that when I share my phone's connection (with Sosh), it syncs very well and works, but with my home Wi-Fi (I have a Freebox), it doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to configure my Wi-Fi so that synchronization happens automatically?

Thank you in advance,

Niels Pops.

I found the solution, I'm sharing it for others who might be interested.
I had to connect the Wi-Fi without automatic IP, that is to say, in the connection settings of my Wi-Fi on the video projector, I had to uncheck "auto ip."
The IP address is properly filled in along with the subnet mask, but I need to add the gateway (the same address as the IP with one digit higher at the end for me).
The device will reconnect and upon connection will display the date and time.

Perfect :)

Good luck to everyone,

I have the same issue as you, and even unchecking the IP, etc., it doesn't work... I'm stuck.

Hello,
You do need to uncheck the automatic IP and you also need to add the network gateway address. Are you sure you have the right one?

Hello, where can I find the network gateway? What is the additional number to add?
Thank you for your response

Hello,

What is the Android version of this device..?? It is possible that time maintenance is not part of its features..?? Or maybe there is a battery somewhere that needs to be changed from time to time...? Check the manual... Or Philips support.

Usually, it's in the settings; you need to set the language and country to align with the time zone... (confirm)
There is also the automatic time zone that needs to be enabled and automatic time adjustment by the network... so here, the Wi-Fi... if you are not connected, there is no automatic time adjustment.

Here’s an overview of the topic.

Good evening,

The Android version is from March 2021, it's the latest one available on the Philips website (it's called: Firmware V1.9.0.0).

But this is not a version issue, since when the device is connected to my mobile hotspot, it shows the correct time on startup. It’s only when it is connected to my local Wi-Fi (Free) that it fails to set the time automatically.

I have read the entire manual and found no information. The time zone and language are set correctly on the projector; however, the issue of setting the Wi-Fi time zone could indeed be it, I will check if this is possible with Free.

I also notice in the connection settings of the projector that when I am on my mobile hotspot, it shows information for "gateway" and "Primary DNS", whereas it shows nothing when it's on my Wi-Fi, do you think that could be the issue?

Thank you.

OK, thanks for the information.

So if you're not in Auto, you're in Manual and you need to configure an IP number for your projector like 192.168.y.xx

This requires it to query the BOX at startup to get its IP number... in return, the BOX assigns it an IP... the DNS that is in the BOX and the time...

But, I believe that in WiFi and in Auto, you could have done the same thing, as long as you defined the IP number of the Video in your FreeBox, next to the MAC address of the projector... that way it will always have the same IP at startup and it will be reserved, even if you start another device...

This method has the advantage of always being properly numbered in your network... and adapting if you go with your projector under your arm to someone else's place, where the IP numbers won't be the same.

That's it... but well, it's good.

Yes, certainly, but I stopped at the first solution I found. What you propose as a solution seems quite good, I'll give it a try when I have the chance.
The advantage is that I learned a lot by digging into the settings of my box, trying to understand what each line is for.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.
