No signal on my TV Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

I just moved into a new apartment and I have this television:

Unfortunately, when I connect it to the TV antenna cable and perform an automatic channel search, it doesn't find any channels. My landlord suggests I buy a TNT decoder with a DVB-T Tuner, but I have doubts about the usefulness of buying one because, as mentioned in the description, this TV is already equipped with a TNT Tuner and handles HD...
Hence my question: what do you think could be the reason why no channels are being detected? I want to clarify that the TV is in perfect working condition because my landlord used it before with a fiber optic operator.
I also want to mention that I live in Prague, Czech Republic.

You're absolutely right, but what is this wall socket connected to?
Collective aerial?
Cable distribution? If that's the case, it's useless because your TV doesn't have a cable tuner.

1) If it is a wired distribution, would there be an adapter/decoder that would allow me to receive the channels?

I see a splitter box, probably to power two TVs, try to eliminate it by making a direct connection from the wall outlet to the TV, reducing unnecessary lengths

Yes, I also find this installation quite outdated and possibly responsible for the malfunction. Indeed, it is a splitter that allows connecting two TVs as output. I have disassembled this splitter to take a closer look and here are 2 photos:

Having never dealt with this type of wiring, I don't feel comfortable taking on a manipulation. I imagine you need to remove the wire that comes into the splitter (let the ones out of the splitter drop), then insert it into a white plug compatible with the TV input, and then connect the whole thing directly to the TV. Do you have any advice for me? Other than calling a technician to do the manipulation? ;-)

I hope you don't mind me intruding a bit...
You just need to connect a simple antenna cable (the ordinary kind...) directly from the television to the wall socket...

Test your television at the neighbor's....
Have you tried checking if the reception of the channels works properly at a friendly neighbor's place to see if it's the television that's the issue or not? Ideally, it would also be good to check with the neighbor on the same floor to see if the reception works correctly with their television.

Yes, and as already mentioned, try to plug your TV directly into the wall socket with the shortest cable possible

It's good, I managed to remove the cable and replace it with another "male-female," but still the same, no signal... My landlord tells me that this TV is 14 years old (even though it's claimed to be from 2009, whatever), I was thinking that the built-in DVB-T (mpeg2, mpeg4, analog) tuner in this TV might be outdated and unable to decode the signal, hence the need to maybe buy a DVB-T/T2 decoder to get the job done?

So this TV is compatible, but I have a doubt about this collective distribution; is it really operational?

I solved the problem... In fact, this TV is compatible with the DVB T standard (the equivalent of TNT in France) but not with DVB T2 (which is the standard used in the country where I am). So I had to buy a DVB T2 decoder and everything is back to normal!
