Hello,

On Messenger, I have a "normal" chat icon with the same person, and the other one is secret.
I can see on the "normal" chat when the other person was last online.
But how is it that I can also see in the secret chat (by clicking on the profile icon in the secret chat) that the other person is online (since it's secret)?
Often the last connection in normal is different from the last connection in secret...
It's all the more confusing that I no longer have a secret conversation with this contact... so why when I click on their secret chat icon can I see that they are online or have been online recently... Does that mean they are also clicking on my secret chat icon?... By the way, I recently noticed that the read date on my last message had changed as if they had read that old message, but recently (even though that message had already been read)...

    Secret doesn’t mean that...

    Secret is because the conversation is encrypted... basically more secure than a normal conversation... 

    This restriction thus reduces the risk that someone else can spy on your exchanges by “borrowing” for example your tablet or PC.

    Thank you for your response Radinoz.

    I noticed that the last connections are different between the secret icon and the normal icon... This is the case on iPhone, which distinguishes whether we have been in secret or normal mode, but not on Samsung.
    I tested it with 2 other friends.
    I see their connection "on secret icon" when they wrote to me, so "to me".
    However, when my 2 friends connect in secret between themselves, even if I click on their "secret" icon, I cannot see if they had a secret conversation.
    So I only see their last connection of secret conversation IF they addressed me. But they need to have written something to me...

    So far, it seems logical to me.

    Where I no longer understand is that I have a friend with whom I no longer correspond.
    Yet it happens that regularly during the day, if I click on his "secret" icon, I see that he has been online... Given the experiences with the 2 other friends, I do not understand why I can see this since he hasn't written to me... BUT, I noticed this on the day when my last secret conversation (from a long time ago and already read) reappeared in bold with him. I then clicked on his secret icon and saw that he had just connected, and it was as if he had just read that old message (already read in the past).

    I am aware that all of this seems confusing and probably unimportant... but well, I like to understand things and right now... I admit I do not understand.
