There is indeed a procedure to follow to re-register a handset on its base.
Here is a procedure valid for several Selecline models
{848062 - 848065 - 850919 - 850921 - 848066 - Octa (uno - duo - trio)}

You are in the second case: handset already registered
What steps did you take?

You still haven't mentioned which model you have...

Often, being next to the base, it is sometimes enough to remove the batteries from the handset for a minute and then put them back in.
