Some minor adjustment issues with a ctronics CT-S20 camera

Hello,
I just installed my new wireless IP camera (WiFi + solar panel).
Although it was a bit complicated due to a poorly designed manual, I managed to finish the network setup. I can connect to the camera from the app on my phone, configure it, and see the live video.
I installed a 128 GB micro SD card. It works because I can record if I start a manual recording from the live view screen or take "photos".... I can also download the video, delete it, etc...
However, I have no recordings when there is an alarm (which I do receive on my phone). The alarm log is empty as well, yet I have activated "Record on SD card upon alarm" with 30 seconds of recording. There is likely a setting I need to adjust, but I can't see which one.
I would like to add a point that may be related. I'm not sure how, but I mention it just in case. I cannot set the time. In the app, I can synchronize the camera with the time on the phone and/or the phone's time zone, but as soon as I exit the time setting screen and return, the camera is again 6 hours ahead. As if the information is not being saved. However, I do not see any validation or save button or anything like that..
Lastly, if anyone knows where I can find the complete manual, even in English, it could be useful.

Thank you for this proposal. However, this link points to the manual that comes with the camera, which I have, and it only covers a very small part of the available functions. What I'm looking for is the complete manual that reviews all the settings...

Hello Marco,

I’m going to disappoint you (or not) but, after trying in vain to get a proper manual* and real advice directly from the manufacturer’s customer service, I gave up and returned the product.

As is often the case with the Chinese, whom I know well from working with them in a professional capacity, they can be very good in certain areas and utterly terrible in others, particularly when it comes to consumer products.

Dressed up in obsequious polite phrases, the responses I received were always off the mark, despite my documentation of my questions with screenshots, photos, and videos... I may have been unlucky enough to receive a defective product; that can happen. In any case, they made no effort to help me identify the source of the recurring problems: charging issues, loss of Wi-Fi connection with the box at 3 meters even though I work in my office, over 15 meters away, two floors up, recording issues, etc.

They probably get by on volume, with a large percentage of products delivered being acceptable, which doesn't generate requests for manuals, information, or technical questions to "customer service". That's how they gather good reviews.

As for me, this chapter is closed; I've moved on... Perhaps to a new adventure, who knows!

They didn’t do any better than Droopy above, who also tried to help me several times, also in vain, since I am now convinced that this manual does not exist.

As for me, I've just acquired the same camera and I'm far from trying to see if the camera records or not. Indeed, I can't connect the camera to my wifi. As a result, the app tells me "camera without internet"! I've tried everything but nothing works. Do you have any idea what I need to do?

Hello everyone,
I am new to the site that I discovered while looking for information about the camera in question.
I experienced the same connection issues mentioned earlier, as well as time zone problems and non-recording of videos.
Here are the solutions that worked for me:
Connection problem:
I removed the band steering from my modem (Belgian Voo Technicolor modem) to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks.
I followed this exactly as received from customer service:

1. Turn on the camera, is there a blinking light on the lens?

2. Press and hold the reset button (attached in image 1) for 10 seconds, after you hear a loud sound from the camera, then the camera will make a sound like ding-dong,

wait 2 minutes for the camera to appear on the WLAN list

3. Open the WLAN list in your smartphone's settings

4. Find IPCAM-XXXXXX (xxxxxx is the UID of your camera), connect to it, enter the password "01234567"

5. The smartphone will lose connection with WiFi, but that’s normal, please don't worry, just confirm it

6. Open the APP

7. Click "ADD CAMERA" in the top left corner.

8. Click "search camera from LAN"

9. Find the camera and connect it, the camera will be online

10. Open the gear icon on the right side, click "WIFI Settings"

11. Choose the WiFi in your home and enter your WiFi password, the camera will successfully connect online with WiFi.

For the time zone: it needs to be changed in the settings and press the little V at the top right to validate the change. It’s not intuitive and I struggled to understand that I just needed to do this.

For recording, as Panini said, you need to wait a bit. When the camera was connected, I was able to record everything, then it stopped for several hours, and now everything is normal and functional again. We'll see over time, but it seems stable. The videos corresponding to the alarms received during the hours without reactions eventually appeared later.
