Hello,

I have a problem with my internship report that I can't resolve.

My list of illustrations duplicates the entries and my captions have gigantic numbers.

I'm putting my document here

https://www.cjoint.com/c/KFspoIfKDLy

If you can help me that would be great because I'm struggling and I don't have much time left :'(

Thank you very much.

Hello.

I had to give up my attempts to correct ...

I really don’t understand how you arrived at this result!
But there are plenty of anomalies, like on page 7 where you have a single caption "Illustration 1" for 2 images, followed by the caption "Illustration 13" at the bottom of page 8, followed by "Illustration 32" and "Illustration 51" on page 9, before jumping to "Illustration 66" and "Illustration 67" on page 10.
The photos and images on pages 14 and beyond are not captioned ...
No wonder Word is confused!

If I were you, I would make a copy of my report, remove all the captions, and redo them from scratch by letting the References/Insert Caption tool do its job automatically; then I would run the Insert Table of Illustrations tool again to see if the result is any better.

Yeah, it's a bit of a mess because I've tried a lot of manipulations but I haven't gotten anywhere. I'm already using these tools to create my captions and my table, but I don't get the issue here. I've also tried deleting them all, but it didn't change anything.

So I replaced "illustration" with "figure," it's a bit of a patch-up but it works, so I'll settle for that.

Thanks anyway for taking a look.
