New ASUS laptop, yellow screen...

Hello,

I am completely desperate to ask for your help today…

I just received a brand new ASUS laptop (TUF566QR), but there is a sort of yellow tint/veil on the screen. When I compare it to my other PC (TUF505DT), the difference is striking: white is not white but yellowish…

I have tried all possible manipulations found on the internet, namely the following:

- Disable Windows Night Light.

- Uninstall Armoury Crate (which has predefined screen settings).

- Uninstall MyASUS and disable AsusOptimization in services.

- Try to make adjustments in AMD Software (it limits the yellow but very little).

- Uninstall AMD Software.

- Update the graphics cards.

- Use the NVIDIA graphics card instead of auto-selecting.

- Open the PC, disconnect the battery, hold down the Power button for 2 minutes, restart the PC.

- Reinstall Windows via a USB drive (to avoid having the ASUS and AMD software by default).

- Delete the ASUS Splendid files....

- Uninstall only Game Visual from Armoury Crate....

Nothing works, still this dominant yellow tint, while on my old ASUS, I had no such problem. When the two PCs are next to each other, it’s very obvious…

If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would owe them a huge favor!!!

Thanks in advance!

Hello, maybe a product or a plastic film on the screen to protect it during transport.
Depending on where you bought it, you have 14 days to return it if necessary.

    Hello,

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately there is no plastic film on the screen...

Will they take it back even though I opened the lid?

You have to ask them or at least get it repaired under warranty, but only the seller will be able to tell you.

Yes, I’ve already tried... actually Fn+C used to disable "Splendid" from Asus, but here it does nothing. I keep switching between the Game Visual profiles but nothing changes, even in "normal" mode I still have this yellow tint...

    Hello,
Dumb question: if you connect a 2nd screen; what color?
If the 2nd one is not yellow, there's a hardware problem with the laptop.
If the 2nd one is yellow, there's a software issue.

Same problem on an Asus Rog Strix and indeed on a TV the yellow tint disappears, so it's definitely a screen issue... Calibration with a probe must remain an option. But for image retouching, editing, and graphic design, it's unusable... Surprising from ASUS!!

I just tried it on the second screen, the white is white, and it stays yellowish on the PC... it must indeed be a hardware problem :(

Yes, but which one? Sorry, I have no idea except for the graphics card and the driver...
Otherwise, updating the BIOS; but that's tricky...

I have the same problem with an Asus Rog Strix! It is indeed a screen issue and it's recurrent... Maybe a calibration with a probe, but you need to find a professional who can do that because it's at least 200 €...

Maybe the screen, right? I will contact ASUS customer service...

I had already updated the BIOS.

Yes, customer service since it's new...
Too bad, have a good afternoon!
Backlighting, inverter, but you have to take apart the screen; customer service is more cautious.
