Hello, I'm reaching out to you today because I have a problem with an illustration I created in Illustrator for a t-shirt; the cut contour is not recognized in the VersaWork software. I checked the details of my cut contour, and it's correct. I even simplified the contour to see if that was the issue, but it still doesn't work. I also changed files... I really don't understand where the problem could be coming from; even when I create a circle around the illustration, the cut contour is still not recognized... Thank you in advance.

As a trace color, you can use magenta (it's the most visible)
It must be declared as a direct tone (not as CMYK) and you name it "CutContour".
Pay attention to the syntax, it must be respected or the trace will not be recognized by the RIP.-
Hello, thank you for your response, but that's exactly what I'm doing. I have other projects where the cut contour works perfectly, but I don't understand why it won't for this illustration... Yet I even used an old file where the cut contour worked; I just replaced the illustration, but it still doesn't work.

In the other possible causes:
the mark is in the dent, on a non-printable layer, the mark is not at 100%..
Then we should check the file to get an idea..
Try something..
Make a PDF output of this file in color separation and see what happens.... if you have the mark on the CutContour page -
Hello, here is the file https://www.transfernow.net/dl/202106048RzTtLsm
I'm sorry, I don't know how to save a PDF in color separation on Illustrator
Thank you very much for your help -
Nothing has changed.. And yet it does detect the tracing of other files, that's what I don't understand.. It's really a mystery ????

I've finally found the solution, even though I didn't quite understand where it came from in the first place.. I saved my illustration as a Jpg and then re-vectorized it, and it works perfectly. I had flattened the transparencies and everything that comes with it.. But that wasn't enough. So the problem was with my drawing.. Anyway, thank you very much for your help.

It’s a bit of a shame to go through rasterization (JPG) to get back to vectorization!...
I saw that your PDF is from Illustrator CC...
The PDFs that are generated might be too complicated for the VersaWork RIP...
If you have the time, save as PDF version 1.4 and try again.- Okay.. I suppose you are saving a PDF from Illustrator..
But can you print to PDF with Acrobat Distiller?..
The difference between the two is that printing forces the conversion engine to interpret the data, while saving just uses the data from Illustrator.
Could the problem have appeared after a Mac update?
