Problem with external CD drive

Hello everyone.

I'm having a problem with my external CD/DVD reader/burner.

When I plug it into the USB port of my laptop (apparently only the blue port supplies enough power to the device), there is a latency before it is recognized by the PC (about 5 seconds), then I see it listed in the "devices," but I can't find it anywhere else. No window opens so I can start it, and no light turns on the case of the drive, so the tray doesn’t open...

It should normally appear with the rest of the external devices in "My Computer" like a USB stick, but there’s no way for it to show up.

I've searched for solutions, watched videos, but I don't know where the problem lies.

Thank you in advance if you have a solution to offer.

    Hello,
Please specify the model and brand of your laptop, as well as that of your CD/DVD Reader/Burner. Perhaps they both need updates?
Also, please specify which Windows OS your PC is running?

      Hello.

Thank you very much for your response!

For my PC, I have an Acer Aspire 3 A315-21-94BS running Windows 10 Home version 1909, and the external drive is a POP-UP MOBILE EXTERNAL DVD-RW 3.0 USB (plug and play).

I did see that I had updates to do on "Windows Update," which probably relates to my problem.

I hope I have provided you with the necessary information.
