Hello,
I am studying motion design and throughout the year I have completed several animation projects that required illustrations. When returning to several of my old After Effects projects (which are at most 6 months old), I often find myself confronted with a large number of errors due to my Illustrator files (I have the same problem with Photoshop).
When I open the Illustrator file, I get this error: "The file 'filename' is of an unknown format and cannot be opened."
I would like to understand why I have this kind of problem with somewhat "old" Illustrator and Photoshop files and if there is a solution to recover them.
Thank you in advance for any responses to my problem.

Before the CS4 versions, the file saving format for Illustrator was a proprietary format with backward compatibility...
Since then, the PDF format has been used and the architecture is completely different.
The inability to use old AI files may come from that. -
Sorry, I kind of forgot to check if there were any replies...
As for the file format, I don't know if that's the issue, considering that the Illustrator files created are from October 2020 and other files from the same period or even much older work fine. Unless there was a recent change?
In any case, thank you for the reply!
