Unable to delete a TIF file

Hello, after saving an image in TIF format via Gimp, I find myself unable to delete it. I have researched on the Internet trying several techniques:
- compressing the file and then deleting it did not work as I cannot move, rename, delete the file, or modify its extension
- I also tried to shred the file using Avast, but that did not work either (the progress bar fills completely and then stalls indefinitely)
- I tried to delete it using the Unlocker software, but that did not work
- lastly, I attempted to delete it using the command prompt (with the command "del File-name") and that also did not work, as when I enter the command, nothing happens and I can't type anything else
I do not know what else to try; do you have any other solutions to recommend?
