Hello,
First of all, I wish you all my best wishes, especially for health in the many days to come.
I am seeking your help regarding the assignment of a document in a cell of a spreadsheet.
On one side, I have my database. On the other side, my PDF document.
In cell B of my table, I have a decree number that corresponds to the PDF document. I would like this document to open in cell L.
My table and document are sent via cjoin.com
Thank you in advance once again for your invaluable assistance.
And take care of yourself.

It is impossible to insert a document, whatever it may be, into the cell of any software, whether it's Calc, Writer, Excel, Word, Access, Numbers, Page, Google Docs, Office 365 ...
A hyperlink placed in a cell will open the target document, displaying it in its own office environment.
Thus, a hyperlink targeting a PDF file will look for the correct URL, then open the file in PDF format in a new window, different from the one where your Calc file is located.
You confuse "inserting external data" and "accessing a file via hyperlink."

Hello,
Yes indeed I had already tried this kind of manipulation but I had so many tables to create that I forgot I had already asked for help with this formulation.
I managed to display the target in my cell. However, my table was initially created in CALC and apparently, you cannot add a hyperlink or a target to it.
I therefore recreated my table in WRITER and I was able to add the target. However, I would have preferred to only display the PDF logo and not the entire access path to it, which is long and takes up a lot of space in the cell.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards

Hello
the link that appears is the full path
In the hyperlink dialog box next to "text", enter "See the pdf" for example
so that only the PDF logo appears
You would need to insert the image and then assign a macro to open the pdf
In my opinion, it's a bit cumbersome, as Calc does not handle images very well, and it requires a macro for each file to open.

Hello,
Thank you for your response.
However, is it impossible to do this because my table is made in Calc (Open Office)? If I recreate my table in Writer, would that make it possible?
The function I want is indeed a hyperlink?
Thank you once again.
Best regards.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
Indeed, I must be confused then. Because this is exactly what I would like.
In fact, I would like the last cell of my table to have the PDF logo, and when I click on it, the file corresponding to a specific reference opens.
I had already seen this process in a table...
Thank you for your advice.

I succeeded, but I took back my entire database in a writer table. I went to get the target and it works. However, I would have preferred to have the PDF logo only and not the entire file path.
Thank you again for your help.
