WiFi Key Issue

Hello, I recently acquired a second-hand computer from a family member, but I’m facing a problem. This person was using Ethernet, which I can't do. So, wanting to use Wi-Fi, I took my two old Wi-Fi dongles that worked very well, but they don’t work anymore; they are not detected on this computer. I tried them in all 8 USB ports of the computer. I then tried to take the drivers from my USB stick and put them on my computer, but that didn’t work. They don’t seem to be detected as drivers from my dongles. I have several questions.

Do you have a solution?

Does having an Ethernet network card block the detection of my Wi-Fi dongle?

Hello
You haven't provided us with any information about your machine, nor about the operating system (OS) on it, as well as the details regarding the USB Wifi adapter(s) you have!!

To make it easier, try "temporarily" connecting your machine via Ethernet (RJ45 cable) to a router, then plug in the USB Wifi adapter and wait to see if the machine updates it via the Internet.

If you cannot do this, please provide us with the requested information so that we can try to help you.

And NO, having an Ethernet network card does not prevent you from having a Wifi adapter, even several if you like!!

See you later!

My computer is running Windows 7 64-bit; my two wifi keys are a Spyker and one branded "we."

I connected via ethernet but it said that no updates were found.

Hello,

Plug the USB Wi-Fi adapter into a USB port
Windows + R
Type --> devmgmt.msc and hit OK.

Do you have a section --> other devices?

What do you have under network adapters?

Windows 7, 8, or 10?
32 or 64 bits?

The computer is running Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello
Yes, so the drivers are missing...

Download the drivers for your model from their website.

See you later

After trying to connect a hard drive in order to transfer the driver, I realized that it wasn't working, even though it was working perfectly on this same computer yesterday. I will try to download the drivers for the Wi-Fi dongle and let you know.

Give the device identification number of the 802.11n NIC
Look at this --> Find a device identification number
Post the number in your next message.

Two lines appear after performing the procedure, "USB\VID_0BDA&PID_818B&REV_0200" then "USB\VID_0BDA&PID_818B".
