Dell P2213, DisplayPort and Power Save Mode

Question

Hello everyone, and a better year 2021 to each of you!  I recently brought out my Dell P2213 monitor with my Latitude 7410 I wanted to use an HDMI (computer) - DP Display Port (monitor) connection with a dedicated cable  When the connection is made, I get the following message: "There is no signal coming from your computer......"  When I select the Display Port input, I see: "Enter Power save mode", and then the screen goes off...  For your information, if I select the VGA input: "No VGA Cable, the display will go into Power Save Mode in 5 minutes" I did the "built-in" test and everything seems fine...  So, I don't know where the problem lies Thank you for your valuable help :) Best regards

Hello  The VGA will not work since it is not used. Since your machine is a laptop, you need to connect the screen and then use the keys to "toggle" (often Fn+F4) for the machine's outputs, see your manual. Thank you,  I wasn't clear, I would like to use the DP (since I have a DP cable)  With the DP setting, the screen turns off (Sleep mode) immediately  Whereas when I perform the test with the VGA input setting, it waits 5 minutes to go to sleep  I tested the toggle function but it didn't help It's as if the computer and the screen couldn't detect each other, even though the wired connection between the two does have an effect (without the cable, the same thing happens as in the VGA test without the VGA cable)  Do you have any other leads?

I don't understand the test with the VGA, it doesn't provide any useful comparison since nothing works the same via a VGA signal. But fine.  If the DP doesn't work, there's only logic left: 1) Test the screen on another PC ideally with DP to verify that the screen AND the Signal detection work. If not, with the VGA input or preferably with DVI. 2) Test the cable itself on another PC and/or replace it to ensure it's good. Depending on the tests, it will give an idea of where the problem lies.
