Hello,

I have a Brother MFC-J4420DW printer that has been working well until now. I have never changed the print settings, but for some time now it has been printing everything in landscape instead of portrait.
I've tried everything, but nothing works, and I don't see any software updates available for these printers.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I should also mention that a friend and her daughter have the same printers as mine and are experiencing the same problem.
Do you have a solution to this issue? Thank you for your help.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 87.0.4280.66

Hello,

I don't have a solution to your problem, and the method suggested by jmarion3 is the most appropriate in cases like yours.

What I would simply like to add is that if the problem occurs on three undoubtedly different configurations, it may be related to a widespread bug that occurred this summer during one of the Windows Update updates. This affected several brands and models of printers, including Brother, and generated a few dozen posts on our site.

It is possible that the driver installed on that occasion retained some traces, even though jmarion3's method should have taken care of erasing them.

But I did not note the affected models, and things returned to normal fairly quickly.

I would suggest, if possible, installing your printer on a PC that has never hosted it, in order to eliminate the hypothesis of traces in the registry.

Later, you could try Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode (if that hasn't already been done) or explore the registry manually, which once helped me resolve a stubborn robotics program installation issue.

@jmarion3, feel free to say if you think what I'm suggesting is unnecessary. I wouldn't take offense.

Best regards

Hi georges97 ...... Thank you for the support and constructive solutions .... It could indeed be a bug following a Windows update if the case is the same for 3 Brother of the same type ??
It remains to determine whether these 3 MFC J4420DW are all running Windows 10 and if the problem occurred at the same time ....
Best regards

Yes, the 3 printers are on Windows 10, only one is not the same model but has the same issue.
