Hello,
I bought a laptop for work reasons and I still have my desktop with a nice big screen that I use a bit more for personal use.
I would like to be able to work on my fixed screen (even in dual screen) when I'm at home and to have both of my PCs on a network (right now I'm having trouble getting them to communicate via the wifi network, it's a hassle).
I don't know if a desktop can be used as a docking station; that's what I'd like to do because, in addition, I don't have any HDMI input on my fixed screen, only VGA, and I don’t want to mess with the connections every time.
Moreover, I really want to separate the two PCs because I want my personal research online to remain personal and the same for work, and right now it’s a bit mixed up.
What can I do or install?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 82.0

Hello,
No, we can't do as you say... a docking station or DOCK is made by the same manufacturer and it's made "specifically to go with" both the connections and the driver software..
However, you can network them (a two-computer network) by following the settings in "Network and Sharing Center"
https://answers.microsoft.com/fr-fr/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/cr%C3%A9er-un-r%C3%A9seau-priv%C3%A9-entre-2-pc/a2fbca15-7041-4d5a-aa43-3a33106eb6a9
Both PCs must be connected to the same BOX, have the same "Network name"
For speed and reliability, it's better to connect them with an RJ45 cable... with its 8 wires.
With that, you will be able to exchange files or whatever is done on the network between the two PCs
But you won't be able to work with Excel software on the other PC on yours... you need to have Excel installed on both... and in that case, you could work on the XLS file from the other PC.
Here's a summary of the matter.
