Like many, my intercom has died and I want to replace it, but how do I wire the new one and which modem should I buy?

This question is rather off-topic in this section of the site mainly dedicated to the Web.
It would be more appropriate to reformulate it on

a site from the same group as CCM where it can be addressed in a more targeted and relevant manner.
Don't forget to provide the references (brand and model) of your deceased intercom...
and whether you are in an apartment or a standalone house...
