I have a GIGASET CL 660H landline phone with a BOX 200A answering machine, and the messages left by callers are not being recorded on the answering machine.
The screen shows 0 and it tells me that I have no new messages. This is false because I left one as a test.
However, if I check the handset, I can normally hear the message.
I looked in the settings and everything seems normal.
What can I do to restore a functioning answering machine that clearly indicates the number of messages received?
Thank you for your help.

Good evening,
The answering machine is set to 18 seconds, so less than 20 seconds
It has worked well until now and suddenly it no longer records on the base and always indicates 0 even though messages have been received
However, when we check the handset in the answering machine section, we can hear the messages
In summary, the messages do not display and cannot be read on the answering machine, but they are on the handset
It might be a matter of settings, but I don't know how to do it.

Hello,
At first glance, I would say that your answering machine is set up incorrectly (the number of rings triggering it is too high).
Indeed, if this number is 5 or more (about 25 seconds), it's your operator's voicemail that records the message.
A good setting is 4 rings or about 20 seconds.
When you use this handset, it's certainly this voicemail that you will check.
For the adjustment, see the manual on page 45

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it’s not there...

OK...
When you use the handset to listen to the message, where do you go?
Voicemail > Listen to messages
and there are two possibilities:
- Answering Machine Res
- Voicemail
What do you do?

Thank you for the response.
I just tried the phone again and here are the results
I followed your recommendation by going into voicemail, then listening to messages, and when I select network answering machine, the phone directly dials 3103 and I reach the network which tells me that I have no new messages, but that I can consult my old ones. That works well.
As for the answering machine, it indicates 0 and says that there are no new messages
From my mobile, I called the GIGASET.
The call goes through, and after 18 seconds as set in the handset, I am told: "Your call cannot be completed as dialed, please try again later."
So, it is impossible to leave a message. Why?
On the handset, the indicator shows that there has indeed been a call but that's all. By the way, how can I find out the number that called?
If you need any other manipulation, I am ready to cooperate because I absolutely need to get a phone that works with its answering machine.
Thank you and see you soon.

Well... With the handset, you query your operator's voicemail (Network Answering Machine = Network Answering Machine), for your own answering machine, you should choose "Voicemail".
By calling your own number from your mobile, if you get:
"Your correspondent is currently unavailable, please call back later"
It's probably because your answering machine is set to simple answering machine.
To enable it to record messages, you need to set it to Recording Answering Machine (Record&Answer).
See the excerpt from the manual on page 36:

Hello,
I'm reaching out to you because I discovered another problem and I'm submitting it to you.
The phone is working well as is the answering machine, but the button located at the top left of the handset (button 13) continues to blink even though all recordings have been deleted.
How can I stop this blinking and clear the red diode?
Thank you.

The message indicator flashes in several cases (see "Message Lists" on page 34)
a) - there is a new message (or several) on the answering machine.
b) - there was a missed call (or several) without the caller leaving a message
in the first case, you need to check the answering machine
in the second, you need to open the call log and scroll through the list of new calls. See
(see "Open the call log" on page 32)
