Hello,
hello, I’m looking for someone who could help me because I bought a Philips cordless answering machine model CD445
the phone works very well but the only problem is that on both handsets, it says "msg waiting" on the screen.
I have checked and rechecked and the answering machine indicates no messages.
I disconnected and reconnected the phone but it still shows the same thing.
Thank you for your advice

Well done to titipfr (06/09) because my Philips 445 really almost went out the window.
I confirm that on models manufactured from 2008 (serial number starting with MP 0108), you need to press the so-called "bis, silence, next" button at the top right for 5 seconds... and the miracle happens.
Thanks to this forum, otherwise my girlfriend would have left!

I have also had the same type of Philips CD445 phone for 3 days and I have the same problem! No messages waiting, empty list, and the envelope is flashing along with the red light. I searched and found nothing in the French manual that would explain how to make this envelope and the flashing light disappear. I have to admit that the manual is quite chaotic in my opinion and not always very clear. Should I go back to the store, in your opinion? (purchased near my home at Super U) What a hassle! It seems that this is common with this model! If someone has solved this problem, please share it with us; otherwise, I will have to change it on Wednesday and I would like to avoid that!
Best regards

Well, I think I finally found a solution for those who, like me, have a phone older than 2008. I have a Philips CD 440 connected to a Neufbox v.4. Here’s my solution: you need to call the Neuf voicemail (listen to the messages if there are any, delete them if you want). Once you're done, you'll be sent back to the main voicemail menu, which offers a few options (3 if I'm not mistaken). At this point, you just need to let time pass. The options will be repeated several times (3 I think), and then you’ll be informed that voicemail has been disabled (but don’t worry, that's not the case), after which you’ll hear a cut-off tone, as if they had disconnected the call on the other end. Again, just wait (don’t hang up). After several seconds, the tone stops and you won’t hear anything, the handset remains silent. Then you can hang up and the blinking light and the display of "msg en att" should normally disappear. In short, all you have to do is nothing for a long time until you don’t hear anything (except silence) on your handset. Despite the message about voicemail being disabled, it is not, and it continues to work normally without needing to do anything (you can confirm this yourself by calling home from a mobile, for example). I’m not 100% sure if it's a general solution, but I've tried it 2 or 3 times and it worked. I haven't seen that annoying blinking light for a while now and it’s great, since the handset is excellent apart from that. If it works for you too, please let it be known in the blog, to find out if it's a general solution. Good luck.
GENIUS, YOUR THING WORKS!!!!
I have a CD440 Duo.... that has been flashing for 4 months!!!! My service provider (Neuf) passed the ball to Philips and the Philips customer service passed the ball back to my service provider..... I just tried your trick: call your voicemail and do nothing, wait 5 minutes, and then simply hang up.....: IT WORKS!!!! A thousand thanks..... I had this problem since Club Internet was taken over by Neuf (if that can help someone understand....)
In any case: thank you Gianni!!!!

Hello, I no longer have the user manual for this phone and I would like to record a voicemail greeting.
On another note, when I put the phone on the base, it keeps charging all the time, is that normal?
Thank you for your help.

Good evening,
I have a friend who has this type of phone and who has a MESSAGE PENDING. I left him a message on his answering machine to let him know the steps to follow, namely to dial 31O3 to get everything back in order.
In advance, I thank the person who provided these instructions.
Thank you very much
Have a good evening.
Happy New Year to all

I had a stroke of genius (lol, yes, it happens to me) and I solved the problem without any complicated maneuvers. It's a message recorded on the France Telecom answering machine! You certainly have this option, otherwise, you wouldn't have this issue!
Actually, it simply involves dialing 3103 and listening to the answering machine, then deleting the message and hanging up!!! It's not more complicated than that; the envelope no longer shows up and the "MSG pending" doesn’t either, and the handset no longer blinks!!!
It's like Christopher Columbus's egg, simple but................you just had to think of it!!!
Friendship to all!

Hello Nanou
I thought exactly the same thing as you, so I listened to my voicemail (along with that of my operator Numéricable) and yes, there was a message. After listening to it, I asked my operator to delete the voicemail box because I had a answering machine and they did it, but the problem wasn't solved
and even in the store, the seller connected it to their phone line and it was the same; it said "msg waiting" with the red light that wouldn’t stop flashing.
The phone I had bought really had a problem.
I completely changed my phone and the one I bought is definitely better.

Hello
I just bought this phone too, but I don't understand; there is no manual in French.
Thank you for giving me a little help.
Looking forward to hearing from you, thanks.
I tested Calim85's solution, which is expensive because it requires a paid call from a mobile phone, but the signal persisted; I gave up, then 5 minutes later the indicator light had disappeared; this had already happened when I posted the first message on the forum; it seems that for each type of device and year, the hassle is the same with different solutions, so I confirm: Philips should be avoided at all costs. It's a shame because the device has a nice design and fairly pleasant ringtones, but well, dealing with a phone like that, no thanks.
I bought a Siemens, but I put it in another room because I still hope to find a solution for Philips;
thank you for your replies.

When I bought it, I did have the manual in French.
Check again in the box or return it to the store.
I ended up going back to the store and apparently it was the phone that had a problem, so they gave me a voucher and I chose another phone of the same type but from the brand Panasonic (way better) and at the same price.
Apparently, the phone was sent back to Philips who must have made a manufacturing error.
Go back to the store.

Hello Nanou
unfortunately for you, you will have to return it to the store because when I took my phone back to the store (FNAC), the salesman tried everything to solve the problem. He read and reread the manual (which is not very explanatory, by the way) and he couldn't do anything.
He then told me it must be a manufacturing error from Philips and they stopped selling this model in the store.
Of course, they refunded me and I got the same model but from another brand (Panasonic).

same problem, we bought this phone for an elderly person, what a hassle!!! We had to call France Telecom to disable the voicemail, which was canceled, but there was a remaining message that hadn't been read, and we couldn't get rid of that blinking envelope on the handset! So we called Philips and they advised us to return the phone and get a refund! According to your messages, it's better to do that and exchange it for another brand!
I encountered this problem. To remove the "message waiting," you need to go to your telephone provider's messaging service:
If it's FT, for example, check your voicemail (create it online if it’s not functioning) as soon as it has been checked, the "message waiting" disappears from the screens and the red blinking light goes out.
If you connect your phone to the line of a second telephone provider, for me, for example, the internet, the "message waiting" reappears along with the red blinking light. Check the voicemail of that provider, and the announcement, the blinking light will disappear!
There's no need to return the phone, which works perfectly and has excellent sound quality.

It's another problem I'm encountering with the Philips CD445 that I bought a few days ago.
Can someone tell me if it's normal that after dialing a phone number, I hear a lot of "crackling" in the earpiece, like noise from searching on the telecom network, if you know what I mean... It's not very comfortable, I feel like I'm going back to the 1950s (and even then).
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I just bought the Philips CD445 phone and I have a big problem, which is that when I'm on a call, after a few seconds, my interlocutor can no longer hear me.
Has anyone ever encountered this issue?

Hello,
I have the same problem as you with my Philips CD445 phone that I bought recently.
I have a Freebox model c-fbx-adsl04 (V4) to which the phone base is directly connected
The calls start, but after a few seconds the communication drops.
Did you manage to solve your problem?
I would be interested in knowing the solution.
Thank you very much!!

I would really like to do what you say, boulisurf, but unfortunately the Philips CD440 model doesn’t have that option in the menu (not in advanced settings, not in others either).
I tried everything, I really did. I managed to make that damn flashing light (and the envelope) disappear by unplugging the Neufbox and simultaneously removing the batteries from the handset, but I don't know how I did it, it was by chance. A few days later, a new message triggered the light again, and it has been more than two weeks since I haven't been able to turn it off, after trying everything. I wrote to Philips customer service and they replied this:

In response to your recent request regarding your CD4401S/24 phone, the message “MSG EN ATT.” on one of your handsets may indicate that you have a message on your answering machine/voice mailbox or that you have a missed call. Please:
- For a missed call: Check the call log as it is indicated on page 17 of your user manual. (an entry in the call log triggers the blinking)
- For a message on your operator's voicemail: Check your operator's voicemail (“MSG EN ATT” indicates that there is a message on this voicemail).
- For receiving an SMS: This device does not allow reading SMS, please contact your operator to find out how to consult SMS.
If the problem persists, we strongly recommend testing your phone on another line. After plugging it into this new line, proceed with a reset (See page 24 of your user manual) and subscribe if necessary. In this case, does the mention “MSG EN ATT.” remain displayed? If so, to allow for more accurate diagnosis, please perform the following tests:
- use the original cables
- do you face the same problems with this device on another friend's/neighbour's line without internet
- do any icons appear on the screen other than MSG EN ATT
- if you have an ADSL installation
- disconnect your modem from the wall telephone socket and ensure that no modem is connected to the telephone sockets in the rest of your home.
- plug the base of your phone directly into the wall socket.
- test its operation.
If, under these conditions, your device works normally, it means that the malfunction is caused by:
- your modem
- or a poor installation of your telephone filters
- or a defect in these same telephone filters In all these cases, you need to contact your internet service provider.
If, under these conditions, the malfunction persists, then we suggest you return the device to your retailer so that they can process an exchange.

...without a FT line, the only thing left for me to try is to plug it into another line, but I fear it won’t help.
Does anyone have an idea, aside from throwing the handset out of the window??????

Did my message help other people or is it just a coincidence?
I had this "message pending" issue for a month. I am so happy to have resolved it that I hope
it will work for others.
