How to transfer a database from Access to LibreOffice Base? Solved

Question

Hello everyone,  I recently created a contact database on a recent version of Access (I think 2016) in .accdb format. It contains a table and a form with different sorting options. Since my client cannot open it because he has Access 2007 (not compatible), I need to recreate the database in LibreOffice Base.  I looked in various places, and the problem is that I haven't been able to transfer it so I don't have to start all over again. Is it even possible? If so, what is the right method? That would already be good, do you know how to do it?  Because I tried different ways in the LibreOffice menu, by doing "open an existing database file" or following steps on a site with "connect to an existing database". Nothing was conclusive and I don't even know what the source to put for the second case.

Hello,  If you can't open it with Access 2007, it's probably because you're using newer features, but given your question, it seems that you just have a form that filters, and Access 2007 can obviously handle that... Your "client" might rather have a version 2003 or earlier that doesn't support accdb files but only .mdb? If that's the case, convert your database to .mdb from Access 2016 (file - save as). Then, if there's still an issue, create a blank database from the "client's" version of Access and import the objects from your previously created .mdb.  See you!

Hello,  I wasn't able to convert my database to .mdb format because it seems that some features are too recent for that... But this solution seemed to be the right one. Too bad, I think I found another solution, which is to start over on LibreOffice Base :')  Thank you for your help!

I must be useless because I didn't succeed even though it seemed like a good idea too. I tried different drivers and had to download a 64-bit Java JRE twice for LibreOffice Base to work properly.  In the end, the same problem, unable to transfer the database. So I'm in the process of recreating it in Base.  Thanks anyway for your response!
