Hello, can I connect an Ethernet switch in my room to the wall RJ45 socket? Or do I have to connect the switch to my box (which I can't do)? I want to connect a TV box and a PC via Ethernet.
Thank you :)

Hello,
let's say both. This means that in order to have internet on your switch, it must be connected to the router, but depending on the setup you have at home, it might be possible to connect the wall-mounted RJ45 to the router and thus use it as an extension, but you need to know the telephone wiring of the house.

Okay, thank you, and if when I plug a device into the wall via Ethernet and it works, does that mean the switch will definitely function? Thank you for your quick response, that's very kind of you :)

Initially,
there's no reason for it to be any different.
What are you so afraid of?

I just don't want to spend money for nothing because I'm going to buy a new PC, and do you know what type of Switch to buy for a PC?

a small 5-port gigabit switch, it doesn't cost much, and it can always come in handy.
